Lol at this thread. Some of the comments are truly cringe worthy.

Yes there are more android users than ios users just like there are more car owners than yacht owners. Its purely price point. You can not buy £10 iphone but you can buy a £1 chinese android phone.

Despite all these android users, app developers still earn more on ios apps. What does this tell you about the demographic of android users?

Brother. I concede. You win. I simply cannot waste anymore energy on you. The long list of posts tells the story. And from what I can see others at least follow my reasoning.
I hope you have a wonderful day of prosperity, joy and wellness. May God bless you and yours.

What's your point? Sales and market share are measurements of, well, sales and market share. That's what I said. I just added that for a lot of people, the reason android has more sales is because of price - especially to those that cannot afford $650+ for a cell phone.

I never tried to rationalize anything.

It's odd how many threads like this one ("I'm leaving iOS") attract those bent on starting wars, and the threads inevitably turn into platform pissing contests.

I use iPhone because I like it, I'm bought into the Apple ecosystem and because it works for me. Buy what you want and go start a fight somewhere else.

What a load of hyperbole and folderol.

Just an hint for you, mates. Take a look around and look at who is upvoting almost every post downplaying Apple on this forum. You'll find an amusing behavior ;)

This thread has hovered near the top of the most active threads for some time now. That simply proves that anyone who dare say anything complimentary about Android, triggers an emotional fear based attack by Apple devotees...those who shudder at the thought that another smartphone could possibly be better that what they've chosen.

Highly concerned about what others think of them, their self esteem is only as good as the image of the smartphone they carry. They've adopted Apple's narcissism and superiority complex, thus they look down on anyone that chooses another brand. They assume "poor" and label people accordingly.

Android isn't a posers phone. They aren't pretentious. Unlike Apple, Google, Android, Samsung, LG and the like are too busy innovating to get caught up in the vain lifestyle snobbery. They don't look down on people, they don't judge. It never comes up.

The results of their hard work is evident in the latest phones that run fast, smooth, reliably and deliver an experience second to none.

Thanks Google :D

What you call "innovating" , I'm calling "they are struggling to survive in the market trying hard to throw all at the wall and see what sticks ". And in the meanwhile Google is celebrating since they just care about selling ad.
Point of views ...

Now this is funny stuff. So, in the last 3 years, how many commercials have you seen from Apple calling out everything from "hipsters" to "get the iPhone for your elderly mom", to "stuck to a wall charger"? None? That's right, those were all Samsung commercials. You know, the ones that paint apple users as stuck in 2012, following the herd, etc. How about the terms isheep, sheeple, crapple, etc. Oh, right, those are part of the Apple "vain lifestyle snobbery"? No?

You want vain lifestyle snobbery? Go to Android Central and praise one single thing about an iPhone. Go to a YouTube video that dares suggest an iPhone outshines even one thing on an android device and read the comments. Hell, do the same on any BGR article comments section. If you think for one split second that a thread like this is indicative of MacRumors as a whole, or that Android users don't judge or look down on people, you either live in a bubble or your head is so far in the sand that you're oblivious to the world around you.
Correct.
And on Android Central you won't find a resident community of haters, or Apple users (there are some, but they aren't speaking about Apple over there). Here the situation is quite different, and this thread is the demonstration. ;)
BTW, the good news is Apple isn't forcing anyone to buy an iPhone. There are plenty of alternatives if people wish.
I'm staying in the Apple's ecosystem for a while, I presume.

News flash people:

Apps are what matter, they both have mostly the same ones.
Actually the matter is more complex than that.
Operative system and ecosystem (services and integration) are part of the equation.
I won't buy a device not running iOS because I WANT a device running iOS.
And Im quite sure Im not alone ....

I know Android is not a phone buddy. I'm talking about the OS, and Android is still out sold over iOS, and if the iOS being Apple is so compelling, why have so many not switched ? People say Apple is so great with the iOS is what we got started on this road. Got it now ?
Actually according to last year sales quite a lot had switched from Android to iOS .... IIRC 30% of iPhone 6 sales were from switchers ...

http://appleinsider.com/articles/15...of-iphone-buyers-in-q4-highest-ratio-recorded

It's delusional to expect a $650-$850 smartphone to sell like a number of cheap sub-$200 smartphones worldwide....

Hey All,

After much consideration i'm saying goodbye to iPhone 6S Plus and hello to Galaxy S7 Edge. Working in technology I think Apple has just been surpassed and is failing to innovate and make smart decisions. The whole "The only thing that has changed is everything" marketing was quite frankly, a joke..

Everytime I go into the Apple store and see people paying $29.99 for what should be a $9.99 cable it just makes me sick. I'm just tired of the whole deal that is Apple. Anyone else feel this way? Not saying they make bad products at all..

I'm certainly going to miss iMessages but that's about it. I'll be gaining a phone that is much more ergonomic, has a better screen, larger battery, better camera, external storage, wireless charging, etc..

I felt this way about 4-5 years ago when I first started to look at Samsung phones.
Apple charges a lot more for average tech. I just couldn't justify the price.
I've bought and used all of the Note series and Most of the S series and have been pretty happy with them but I still bought the iPhone 6 and 6S + just to see if I could go back but no, once you get use to the freedom and flexability of Android, it's tough to go back.
Oh one thing I noticed is that there is very high level of fanboyism at MacRumors who condemn anybody that ever talks positive about anything outside of Apple. I suggest you check out some of the Android based forums where people are more friendly.

Do me a favor when you have some free time. Head on over to AC and make a thread about Saying Goodbye to Android. Pick any device you wish. I might suggest a nice Samsung sub-forum. Then, proceed to state you are leaving for an iPhone. From there, list all of the features the iPhone does better than the Samsung phone you are leaving. Give it about an hour, maybe two and then report back here what ensues.

If you think for one second this place is fanboy central full of nastiness, go try what I suggest above and witness how "friendly" android based forums can be lol.

That's only cause other forums are moderated differently. If MR allowed it, then these forums would be as bad as YouTube comments. I seen both Android and Apple based forums like you have described.

Either way it doesn't bring much validity for the comments that were made about "Android based forums where people are more friendly".

I honestly have found this place to be quite endearing to differing opinions. Does the bias tend to favor iOS and Apple products? Yes of course and that should be expected upon entrance. Why anyone would choose to spend their free time hanging around an Apple-centric forum just to point out its short-comings and flaws is beyond me. They are the typically the ones who will bash away and once called out for it...will quickly inform you that they own some random Apple product therefore not trolling.

This comment is laughable. And I'm in no way saying the fanboy-ism isn't strong amongst the Apple faithful on MR because it can be as bad as anywhere but head over to any Android focused forum (or just tech forum for that matter), profess your preference for anything Apple and you'll quickly find witches in 17th century Salem had it better. ;)

I know this is all true. However we just get called liars and fanboys because remember guys android does not lag. It is perfect and I can't imagine why anyone would choose a fisher price iPhone over an obviously superior android flagship phone :p
[doublepost=1456817685][/doublepost]
I used my boyfriends Samsung Galaxy S6 edge plus last week and it lagged. Every time I've used it it has lagged. Maybe he is not maintaining it properly, he doesn't clear the RAM or the cache and he doesn't re-boot it ever. However the fact remains it still has lag. He also reports poor battery life. He leaves home at 7.30 in the morning and gets back just after 6. When he gets home his phone is nearly dead or dead and he has to charge it. I really like the look of the S7 and considered getting it as a secondary phone. However after using his S6 edge plus it reminded me of all the things I found annoying about Samsung phones and I decided not to get it.
TouchWiz is bloated crap.

Both my friend and I switched from iPhone's to the Lg G4 her the 6 and myself the 5s and we couldn't be happier.

The current high end Android phones are almost all powerful beasts, just like iPhones. Both iOS and Android are great platforms, where you can download and use apps, send emails, watch videos, make pictures, send messages, make calls with, etc. It's just a matter of personal preference which OS you find better.

Nonsense .... One must be better!!!!

I'm seriously looking at the LG V10. I need a much bigger screen because either my eyesight is going to **** or my hands are getting bigger. Plus, in all honesty, I miss Talon for Twitter and Sync For Reddit.

I am looking to sell my 6S Plus and downgrade my iPhone to a cheap one so I can still have a nano sim device w/ iMessaging to be in the ecosystem. My GS7 Edge will replace my current iPhone.

It's funny though because the stock android phones like the Nexus 6P doesn't compete with phones running TW like the Note 5. Even with supposed bloated TW the Note 5 gets better battery life.
I get all day battery life on my 6P.

Hope you like it. The camera is piquing my interest. I'm enjoying my Nexus 6P, but good lord the shutter time is terrible. It takes better low light pictures than the 6S I had, but the shutter time is the worst I've seen in forever. By the time you take a pic, you've already missed the moment. Waiting to see what the iPhone 7 camera brings.
That's due to HDR Auto.
