Just wanted to get some frustration out. Was cleaning down my computer and found a scratch on the lid. Frustrated because I never even took the comp out of my house and was super careful when using it. I know i'll get over it and start using it a comp but the first scratch always sucks :(

And yeah, Im out of the return period now.

I'd look into a Speck, Kuzy or iPearl case from Amazon...place one of them on your computer and forget about the scratch.

I would be way more worried about that huge black circle in Sharpie black permanent ink!

:D

i throw my mbp in my bag without a sleeve all the time, never scratched it and somehow managed to get a huge scratch across the lid while it was on my desk!
not fussed about it, i've got a dead pixel and they're replacing the whole lid for me when i have time to take it in. who'd have thought you'd be glad to have dead pixels eh?

Wonder how that happened. You must have ran something sharp over the lid like a watch or something by accident. Stinks.

If it bothers you that much, I'm sure there is some product out there to fill a scratch in aluminum just like you can fill a scratch on a car. Look into it.

And this is going to prevent you from using your machine how?

scratched the lid of my mb pro last week. pita, but hey ho. not as bad as curbing an alloy on a new car to be honest!

The first cut is always the deepest, but not sure how your being outside the return period has anything to do with it...

I assumed he said that because I've seen some members say "return it. Simple" to threads regarding scratches.

I suspect he said it with every intention of returning it had the return window not expired. :D It's the entitlement mindset these days. Especially with Apple products.

shut up.. scratched items sucks even though it doesn't ruin the computer experience.. a dent in your ferrari doesn't make it drive any slower.. but it does look worse, and it sucks, pretty sure you'd be pissed too.

Mine came with two dents on the bottom but it had a Samsung display and SSD I chose to keep it.

Well, just say you have IR and exchange it lol. Just kidding! I wouldn't worry, havining owned pros and airs over the years, you'll deff get scratches, dings and marks. However, just remember that this is NOT the last computer your buying, and if you may be upgrading every 3-5 years if not sooner. The first scratch will hurt, but you'll get over it :)
