He says right in the review that he can hear dust and grit getting trapped. It's not the pencil doing it, but the dust itself. This cannot be helped, and would be a problem with or without the pencil. This well known reviewer mentions the problem about 30 seconds from the end of his Apple Pencil review. It's the only thing giving me second thoughts about getting one.
Correct. No, the pencil can't scratch your screen. Only certain debris between the pencil and your screen could accomplish that.
I am hoping that Apple will soon release different Pencil tips with various hardness/drag and maybe that will eliminate this issue
Yeah I have some micro scratches on my pro. I can't see them unless I tilt it into the glare of light.
i dont like screen protectors. tried them no thanks.
Why there are still people who eschew film or glass protectors on something with as large a display as the iPad...is beyond me.
Exchanging yours only means you're starting fresh again...it will happen again.
Because some of us think that's a waste. Why protect everything and for what reason? I want to use my device as intended without more plastic or glass on it. I don't live in a bubble. If I get a few scratches, so be it.
FYI - I have the 12.9 IPP and Pencil. I don't have any scratches. Also, if anyone is worried about the Pencil scratching your screen, your finger can do the same thing. Once fine particle of dust between your tip and the screen and you have a scratch. It's live. Stop living in fear. It's just an iPad.![]()
Well it's an iPad worth 1000+ with the accessories...
We do know for sure that the pencil itself didn't scratch the screen. The tip would have to be made out of something harder than gorilla glass. That's just not how it works. We do not know for sure that the Apple Pencil scratched the screen. The OP is just thinking it did.
