    Hey guys,

just want to post some quick photos of my "new" (definitely was not my fault) iPhone 4s:

What do you think of that? Shall I bring that to the Apple Store where I got my phone or do I have to live with that with the knowledge that these are only the first scratches of many following.

Am a bit pissed about Apples quality control... But in the end I think they will not exchange it even if it is just for 2 days in my property now, because the scratches COULD have been made by myself... -.-

    Should I try it?

Just for clarification, are you saying it is not your fault cause this is how it came out of the box, or because you don't know where the scratches came from after you took it out of the box?

Some clumsy Chinese teenage girl dropped it in the factory.

If you return it they are going to track her down and whip her.

This. So you should just suck it up and keep it or the poor girl will lose her job.

No I am serious, just deal with it. They will hurt this girl bad. She's probably like 13 years old, you don't want that kind of blood on your hands.

Seriously? If it bothers you enough go return it and ask for one without those marks, so you can make them yourself. I don't see any marks like that on my iPhone 4 so they aren't "supposed" to be there.

Let's do some thinking here and make a decision.

    1. Does your phone have any other issues?
If no, do you want to risk getting one that might have other problems?

    2. Are you happy with the color of your screen?
If yes, do you want to risk getting one that might have a different tint?

    3. Are the scratches really that big a deal to you? The look pretty minor, kind of like you would have to look for them to see them.

    4. From the quote above.... Are you planning on keeping your phone in a case with screen protectors on both side so it stays perfect?
If yes, by all means take it back,
If no, like you said, those will be the first of many and the seem pretty insignificant.

1- very hard to believe it came that way and you'll have a hard time convincing apple that it came that way.

2- if you don't use a case then those are just the first of more to come.

3- if you do use a case maybe that happened when putting it on or taking it off?

Put it in your pocket for two minutes with your keys or some change. Problem solved, lots of new scratches to take photos of and waste internet bandwidth with.

If you don't like it, take it back to Apple.

I doubt anyone here is going to urge you to return it ASAP.

At the end of the day, if you're ok with it, fine. They're things that make it your iPhone ;)

If it's bothering you, take it to Apple and see what they say.

Thanks for all your replies! I think I will keep it, because otherwise the phone is in a perfect condition and I will not risk to get a worse one.

@HellDiverUK: Gosh... What is your problem? Often threads like this can show up what production failures Apple has with their new products.
If no one asks or shows what problems the devices have, no one will ever notice that it is Apples fault. If nobody would have posted concerns about the reception quality of the iPhone 4, would antenna gate have reached the public?

If you do not like it, skip it and go on instead of really wasting internet bandwidth...

I found this a little silly, sorry, its not leather. Scratches and imperfections don't add to the character of the device.

OP: Shouldn't be too much of an issue to return it, when you pay for something new you would expect it to be in new condition.

Let us know how you got on :)

Well in all fairness this thread could be considered stupid ********.

Seriously quit being lazy and pick up the phone and call apple if it concerns you. Why do you need advice? These types of threads are lame.

Man the hell up and figure it out for yourself.

It's your phone, you decide whether you can live with it or not.

If it bothers you then by all means take it back, I just would examine the replacement very close before leaving .

Wait...did you just try to get someone to do some logical thinking? Wow. That doesn't seem to happen very often. Just saying.

To the OP, I'm not quite sure what the point of the thread is. If it bugs you, take it back. If you can live with it, keep it. Why do you need other people's opinions on what you should do? If your question is whether or not they'll replace it, no one can say for sure. Take it in and ask them.

I ordered a macbook pro and immediately found a small indent on the back, I had them ship me a new one as a replcement while I used the one I owned then returned the old one. No questions asked Apple CS is great.
