how easily does the iPhone 13 pro max screen scratch? I’m asking because I hear that the screen it pretty good when it comes to this so I’m debating using a screen protector.

Screen protectors are not that expensive and if they do get scratched it is easy and cheap to replace them. I use one on my 13 Pro Max. With my last iPhone I went without a screen protector and the screen got some scratches on it.

It depends on what gets in contact with the screen. It's more shatter resistance but unfortunately at a cost of making it for scratch easily. If you are that worried, just slap a screen protector.

This is my first time using a screen protector in 8 years… my last phone (12 PM) had 2 inch long scratches on the screen from repeated falls, since i didn’t use a case and it was very slippery! Constantly falling out of my pocket. But, I didn’t really care for that phone, maybe it was the color.. pacific blue.

For the sake of £5 I’d just put a tempered glass protector on and forget about it. I really don’t see the point in risking it when a protector is invisible and gives you the same experience as the identical glass that is underneath it.

Then again if someone else scratches their screen on their iPhone, it’s not going to effect my life one bit, so do what you like

Ceramic Shield only deals with mitigating display shattering. Increased shatter resistance brings strength to the display but makes it less resistant to scratches.

I only keep my smartphone in my pocket with my keys wallet and everything else in the right pocket. My wife just dumps her smartphone in the bottomless pit aka her purse.

She has a Zagg invisibleshield tempered glass screen protector, her second one. I put a Zagg invisibleshield Glass XTR tempered glass screen protector. They are a bit pricey but definitely worth it.

Screen protectors do hinder functionality and looks if you are sensitive to that sort of thing. They’re thick enough that you feel you’re not touching the elements on the screen directly. It’s like the difference between a laminated display and a non laminated display on an iPad.

Some people may not be as sensitive as this, or may consider it a tolerable trade off to prevent scratches. Your mileage may vary.

No screen protector with the 12PM. Using the 13PM since launch day. No clue how or when but the top right part already has scratches on it. Have to see it at an angle and what not. Highly annoying. It bothers me. I went ahead and ordered a tempered glass screen protector from amazon. I get it tomorrow. These tiny scratches annoy me. I don't want to see them anymore.

Sure the tempered glass screen protector just hides them. But for me even if I do over it up and can't see it, it's still physically lol.

It just bothers me honestly. The 12PM with 11 months of use not a single scuff on the screen. I do believe my kids had something to do with it but oh well. Once I slap the protector on the 13 PM I know I wont see them anymore.

I never used a screen protector on my iPhones (original, 4, 5, 6, and 7) and never had a problem. My 13 Pro got a scratch on it within two weeks and I am super careful with my phones. Never a case in all these years and I’ve never busted one. But this got a scratch that I could feel with my fingernail. Immediately and begrudgingly slapped a screen protector on it ?

It must depend on what screen protectors people buy but the Spigen tempered glass one i have feels no different to the glass underneath it. You also can’t see it as it goes right to the edge where the case meets the edge of the iPhone.

Yeah man you can feel the scratch with my finger nail too. I was like WTF. I wasn't happy. It bothers me. Now it sucks because I'm under the AUP. Every year I pay off the device. Remove the extra year of apple care+ and flip locally and still make money. Thing is this one now with some scratches doubt it ill flip it next year. If anything it will go back to apple unless something happens and I require another device. Hasn't even been 1 month yet with the 13PM either.

Screen protectors just look cheap and tacky. You can see them on and they create a lip around the screen with edge reflections. Agreed that scratches are not nice but the phone feels a lot better without one.

Historically I‘ve never used screen protectors, but my 12 Pro Max screen had micro-scratches all over it after less than a full year. I don’t drop my phone, so that wasn’t an issue.

My 13 Pro Max now has a Zagg tempered glass screen protector. The peace of mind knowing that my screen is flawless is worth it.

That depends if you use a case or not. You can’t see mine because it goes right up to the lip of the case.

iCarez screen protector from Amazon came in today. Applied it awhile ago. Now I regret not applying one when I got the phone. I like this screen protector. Was easy to install. It’s a full screen. Can’t even tell it has a screen protector. It also disappeared the scratches I acquired last week. I’m content now until the screen protector comes off and I can see the scratches again LoL. I will defiantly be applying a screen protector next year with the next iPhone. Lesson learned.

Yep! Apply that screen protector right out of the box! I will be doing this next year!

Last iPhone that had a screen protector was 11PM. 12PM never had one and no scratches for 11 months of use. Got the 13PM on 9/24 and last week had scratches. Never again. Back to screen protectors from here on out. Who am I kidding with kids/business and my daily life it’s a must. This screen scratches too easily even though it’s the strongest.

This is my first time using a screen protector. I had 2 major scratches on my 12PM, it constantly fell out of my pocket when I sat down… but for some reason I didn’t care, I think it was the pacific blue color(?)… I hated that phone. ??

Do you have polarized sunglasses to try it with? Curious how it performs with glasses and I like those ones with the curved edge like that iCarez one. Spigen was terrible with my sunglasses. The ESR one is pretty good.

Yeah works fine with my ray bans. I like this screen protector actually. Like the edge black border. Full screen coverage. I like how the phone doesn’t look like it has a screen protector on it. Biggest mistake was not putting one on since day 1. Oh well.
