My 12PM had scratches everywhere including 2 major ones.Very easy to scratch IMO..some of the scratches came from my wedding ring and its just a titanium band so with my 13PM got a spigen screen protector the second it came out of the box it got protected..I have already dropped my phone on the screen and the protector didn’t scratch.. very happy I did this and have not lost any touch performance with it

I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and just noticed a scratch on my screen as well. I’m not even sure when it happened tbh but just noticed it this morning. I’ve never used screen protectors on any of my iPhones only a case and have never dropped this phone either. Pretty annoying that now I feel compelled to buy a screen protector. My XS Max display held up like a champ to lots of wear and tear but this one seems more fragile.

I don't use screen protectors. Even the cheaper android devices have never really scratched for me. I do use a case, I don't usually go to the beach so I don't have a ton of sand despite being in FL 6 months a year. I'm not using one on my 13PM and have no plans to add one.

My last phone(S20 Ultra) had a pre-installed screen protector that got scratched so I took it off. Now there's a ton of micro scratches, but I ended up giving it away for free so I don't really care. For the 13PM I got a $10 screen protector from spigen, which is pretty good. The naked screen tend to attract fingerprints, the spigen screen protector seems to not show fingerprints that much since it apparently have some "anti-fingerprint/germs" coating.

I don't think you will get many deep scratches without a screen protector unless it rubs against something hard like rock or metal. You might get micro scratches though.

I don’t see the point in taking the risk and especially as a good screen protector is practically invisible. I hope you don’t get that first bad scratch as it’ll always be there.

A good glass screen protector will save your screen from becoming scratched in the long run. Remember if your iPhone drops at least the screen protector will save your screen from being scratched or maybe even cracked

It’s always cheaper to replace the screen protector if you drop your phone than the screen. Personally I baby my iPhones but they still get screen protectors to protect against micro scratches.

I’ve always found screen protectors to be of nuisance, even the tempered glass ones. To my eyes, it affects the clarity of the beautiful display of the iPhones from the past and the present.

Then again if someone else scratches their screen on their iPhone, it’s not going to effect my life one bit, so do what you like
Damn!! scratchy

Doesn’t the Screen protector make the fat phone even more fatter + added weight. I pass

Not really as the one I use is 0.33mm thick. The weight I am unsure of but it’s a matter of grams. It’s not something you’d be able to notice without comparing with a set of scales.

A bonus of the one I use is it resists fingerprints and is a harder glass than the actual screen.

I find it personally ironic that none of my screen protectors were ever scratched, yet I'm sure the device screen would have been if I never applied one in the first place.

The screens on recent iPhones are so soft compared to the iPhone 3GS and 4 era. I had a screen protector on my iPhone 12 from Spigen and it didn’t cover the notch area. That’s the only part of my screen with scratches on it and I only used the protector for a month before swapping to a full screen one

So you are basically telling ridiculously expensive apple screens are worse than a cheap made screen protector.

I shared my experiences and it’s up to you. I don’t mind if others don’t like screen protectors and scratch their screens as long as mine isn’t scratched lol.
My screen has hairline scratches by the way and i think it’s normal.
