Can't believe Apple would allow such ********** p*** poor quality in their products. Knew I shouldn't have bought this piece of s*** as soon as I saw the reports of screen problems. ********** Steve is rolling over in his grave.

Lol I like the way you are calm in your original post and then kick off into a censored rant in your second post. I could really feel the rage :D

Just replace it if you aren't happy. Chill out dawg!

I didn't think Samsung panels were even out yet? How do you know you got a Samsung display?

For my 2012 MacBook Pro with Retina display. It came with an LG that had image persistence. I brought it to Apple and they replaced the panel. I received a Samsung LCD panel. The LG started to demonstrate image persistence about two months after purchase. I used the computer about eight hours a day.

I know I had an LG and now have a Samsung because there's a Terminal command you can run which displays the panel's manufacturer part number. I don't know the command off the top of my head, but you can Google it if you need to.

Not witnessing or understanding something does't make it "bullcrap"

First of all, what was bullcrap is saying every LCD has it when clearly they don't. You can quote product manuals all day long but I've never seen it happen. Those disclaimers are probably to cover their own arse. I'm a professional designer so I notice these things. This is a recent development, especially with Apple products. If every display does it, then why did Apple swap out my faulty display for one that is immaculate? I've cranked up the brightness for several hours on checkerboard patterns and NOTHING shows up when I switch to different gray backgrounds. There is clearly a difference as before I could be in finder for a few minutes and switch back to Photoshop and see file lists over my UI. No matter which way you try to spin it, putting one of these displays into your product is bad for the user experience and should be avoided—especially when your company is making record profits. I mean, come on! The iPad is all display. That's all you see. That's the face of your product. Don't make it crap.
