Hi I have noticed this on all of my watches to, it look like it is worse when it is new. I did have it on 3 SS series 5 watches, and now I see it on my new AP S6 SS. Attached is pictures of the series 6 and the 5. Look like the series 6 is worse. What do you guys think? does oled behave like this?

What is AP?

You’re talking about lumps in the middle of the screen? If yes, I haven’t noticed that on my AWs.

I think this thread is taking about the bump/lump that surrounds the screen. If yes, from experience the bump is more pronounced on sapphire screens and it seems it‘s part of the manufacturing process. Aluminums with Ion glass screens have it too, but much less pronounced. On one of my AWs with sapphire the bump encroached a bit on the visible screen such that if you looked at it in certain angles it would distort the view, sort of like looking through a Rolex cyclops magnifier.

I don’t want to tell you that it’s ‘normal’, because I can’t prove that it is. But I can tell you that I’ve been participating on this AW forum for four years and other members have pointed out similar tendencies with the bumps under the OLED displays as you have, and I’ve concluded it’s a manufacturing tendency with OLED panels, and it won’t pose a problem. You happen to notice it and probably can’t un-notice it now, but in all likelihood, some other displays probably are exhibiting that as well, maybe to a lesser degree. But it shouldn’t have an effect either way on the display itself when illuminated.

However, if you feel it’s necessary to make a return or contact Apple, they may or may not do anything with that, being it’s more of a rarity, but you might find another watch that exhibits the same effect given you probably will be looking for it on the next replacement. But the choice is yours. (I probably wouldn’t be too overly concerned.)
