I had a hard time with reflections recently on a flight that made watching movies a hassle. This convinced me to try out the non-glare film. It was a little annoying at first, but it definitely subdued the reflections and I rather like the added texture...

I just don't buy that screen protectors prevent fingerprints. Fingerprints come from the oils on your skin. If you are sliding your finger around on the screen it won't leave fingerprints but just a bit of oil. The oil is good as it lubes the screen so your finger slides smoothly over the surface. I clean my phone with windex every once in awhile, which makes it look brand new, but it is not as smooth until I use it for a bit. Every once in awhile I can see a little rainbow effect because of the skin oil but a quick swipe of the finger evens it out and it's gone.

Eek.

I made an account just to respond to this. Don't use windex. The supplied cloth is just fine, and if you really need to pull the oil off use an anti-static cloth. The ammonia in windex and other glass cleaners will make your glass much easier to scratch, in the long run.

So I'm currently using the matte screen protector they sell in the Apple store. I like it b/c it prevents fingerprints but it definitely dulls the screen considerably and I'm contemplating removing it. Do you guys use your iPhone w/ or w/o a screen protector? If you use one please state which you use.

I also bought these screen protectors but only used it about a week. I could not stand how it dulled the screen so much. I also have the 1st gen iphone and when you looked at them side by side the 3G with the screen protector on it was night and day. I was going to buy a more transparent screen protector but have not got around to it yet. I love the way my screen looks and I dont want anything on top of it spoiling the way it looks.

I used the crystal film on my first gen iPhone and liked it. When I purchased the 3g I decided to try the anti-glare film. In my opinion the anti-glare films make the screen look really bad. I ended up removing it after a week and am going completely naked.

i use the Power Support Crystal Film. Love it, works great and I actually thought it was pretty easy to put on. But I had to go through several replacement iPhone so I guess I had some practice!

I have this Power Support Crystal Film (http://store.apple.com/us/product/TS505LL/A?fnode=MTY1NDA0NA&mco=MTI3MzkwMQ)

And i have to say i really like it, but i don't know if it makes the screen look worse because when i got my iphone 3G the first thing i did was to apply that film.

It does get some fingerprints on the plastic but i clean that off with a kitchen towel that i wet extremely little in one corner, works well i recommend that screen protector.

I use these. They have them for the 3G version in stores at least.

They don't leave fingerprints and hardly (as in every 4-5 days at soonest) have the need to wipe the screen with anything.

AMEN! I use these anti-glare/anti-fingerprint ones as well.......AND I use the clear case that company sells as well. it only adds 1mm thickness to the back and the case is perfectly clear so you can see the asthetics.

+1 big time on these!

At first I was lukewarm on the PS Anti-Glare, but decided to just try it. It is amazing. The thing just "repels" fingerprints! Yes, it makes the screen just a little less vibrant, but it's not a huge deal at all. I love it.

BTW, Eso has no idea what she/he is talking about...it DOES prevent fingerprints! Why would so many people just make that up? Man people are cynical these days.
