The watch face is very exposed on top of your wrist. My biggest concern is scraping it on a brick or stucco wall.

Given the thickness of the watch, it will stick out quite a bit on top of my wrist; making the accidental scraping of it on a rough surface quite likely.

I'm not saying I'm putting one on my Watch, BUT:

I put a glass one on my 6 Plus on day one. It doesn't degrade the Retina Display at all, and completely eliminates scratching concerns.

That said I think on a device as small as the watch it would be glaringly obvious if another piece of glass were sitting atop the screen. Combine this with the curvature of the screen and I'm thinking wet install type films might be the only viable option. Which personally I am not a fan of.

So you're sayaing their's a chance it can scratch, nope, won't risk. I must buy a $5 thing to put on top of my $700 thing to protect it.

Sapphire will shatter with enough force, but only diamond or another sapphire/ruby/emerald will scratch it.

I've had watches for years. Sapphire watches can certainly get beat up, and the cases scratched, etc. but the crystal usually looks like new throughout.

Take a look at the lens on an iPhone 5S or 6, even one without a case.

Do people wearing luxury watches use screen protectors and bumpers? Or is there something about Watch that will make it more prone to scratches than a traditional watch?

I've already ordered two tempered glass screen protectors for my SS 42mm Apple watch I'll buy. I don't care if they start making the screens out of diamonds,I'll always buy a tempered glass protector.

My iPhone 6 has a tempered glass protector and the edges curve just a little,I love it!

By the way,I hate Zagg with a passion.

My main thing with screen protectors is... It must have a very good fit and I'd only buy a tempered glass at this point. It has to be clear enough so it doesn't take away from the screen resolution.
Lastly,it must must fit so good you can't tell it's even covering the device, unless you stare at the edges.

To anybody who put screen protector on their iPhone day 1:
Take it off and hear angels sing as you gaze upon this amazing retina screen.

Seriously, I put protector on my iphone 4s the day I got it and about a year later I took it of and was like "damn!" I have wasted a year of eye candy looking through this nasty, dirty, now kinda yellow piece of rubber/plastic/whatever screen protector.

Since then: No way in h*** I will use another screen protector :)

LOL, change a few words and my thoughts exactly when I stopped using condoms! :p

Stop supporting useless junk (Watch condoms).

People who buy $1k Seiko, $10k Rolex, $100k+ watches do not use a protector due to durability of sapphire and experience no scratches after decades of use, why would you for a $700 Apple Watch?

Companies do make screen protectors for the iPhone 6 and that has a curved display.

Iphone 6 is the first phone I didn't buy a protector for. Since the screen curves, the protector isn't flush on the sides, especially the bottom where my case doesn't cover. I knew that that edge would peel up eventually so I didn't bother. So far, so good. No scratches!
