Path of Exile on OS X. I never run this full screen because I've a twitter addiction, and always chat on other services.

I should probably get a second monitor for all that. :p

Cool. I wanted to give the game a spin some time and this would certainly lower the barrier for me.

You simply just download, extract DMG, drag to App folder, and double click.

The game is fantastic, and it's a shining example of what Free to play games should be.

I thought this was a Steam game as in Steam-only. I must be wrong about that though?

At one point I thought i read they were contemplating a Mac version or maybe i asked them myself. I forget now. Any news on that?

Meantime, this looks pretty cool. I might take it for a spin too.

Not steam only at all, in fact I've never seen it on steam personally. I deal with the game website directly.

Also in light of the WINE port working so well, and constantly being maintained I'm not sure if they'll go ahead with an official Mac version.

None of the Wine wrappers work for me :(

None of them? Even the latest version 4.03?
Can you also please expand on what you mean it doesn't work? Does it not install? Down load the game through the installer? Or does it not work well with the game after all of the downloads and installations.

May I ask what version of OS X you're installing it onto?
Also please download the latest XQuartz version http://xquartz.macosforge.org/landing/ just in case that might also be an issue.

Also are you still using that AMD 6870 in your signature?

It states this at the bottom of the OP's post on the port.
The game is not compatible with AMD cards running on Snow Leopard and Lion

Also
Immidiate crash without any reason - For whatever reason, Razer synapse drivers will crash the game

I did not notice the note about that :(

Sorry to hear that. I've encountered that issue a lot in my tutorial in getting Torchlight 2 working in OSX as well. it's simply down to AMD's older drivers not working well with WINE, and OpenGL. Even if you got it to work, you'd be suffering a lot of issues, and artifacting/nasty effects on the screen.

I'm currently waiting on my new Mac Pro, and I'll definitely be testing it with WINE, and PlayOnMac to see if the issue with some AMD cards is still around.

I would encourage you to at least email the developers, requesting a Native Mac port, and explaining your current issue.

It really is a fantastic game to play.

Lately I'm having a love-hate relationship with Team Fortress...
