Interested in how it would be priced, the iphone is brilliant, but for me and quite a few its a bit too expensive.

Mine arrives today :) tick, tock...

I've thought long and hard about which way to go - Android Vs iPhone.

In the end I decided that most Apps, although neat, were pretty pointless gimmicks that I'd get over in a couple of days. What was really important was that my e-mail, calendar, contacts, and the internet were all available, up to date, and straight forward. Seeing as my mail, calendar and contacts are all on Google services, Android just made much more sense.

1.) iPhone

......

2.) BlackBerry Curve
3.) Palm Pre
4.) HTC Magic
5.) HTC G1

:p And there you have it. The BlackBerrys are still decent phones, and the only one I'd go with other than the iPhone. ;)

The G1 looks absolutely terrible.

The Magic looks much better... :)

Looks aint everything IMO. I thought the G1 was overly bulky and unattractive myself till I gave it a shot and have loved it ever since. For the record even more than the iPhone. That being said though I'd be remiss if I didn't consider upgrading to the "G2".

I'll be curious to hear how you like it.
I like it very much :)

Pop in SIM card, turn on, sign in with my Google ID, instantly all my Mail, Calendar, and Contacts are available.

Handset is thin and light, looks good too IMO.

Android Marketplace is simple to use. Obviously doesn't have anywhere near the amount of apps Apple does, but it'll get better, and some of the ones that are there are incredible. The augmented (think that's the word for it) reality stuff is very clever.

The web browser is good, renders everything nicely, scrolls around and zooms well etc.

I actually quite like the lack of multitouch, it makes it so that you can use your phone with one hand a lot easier. Which I think is good, what with it being a phone and all!

I don't get why there are buttons there, but that might be just my personal taste on the matter.

I was wondering, could somebody who has been near an Android phone explain why there is a trackball and a touch screen?

People like buttons. They are much nicer to use, especially when you can't put all your focus on using your phone. Like when you are driving.

Also, scrolling is easier when you have a trackball... I mean, would you rather the Mighty Mouse not have a scrollball?
