What changed my mind was I spent a lot of time playing with tasks I would do with it every day and discovered that even though I could do the very same thing on my iPhone, I could just do these tasks so much easier on the watch.
Another strong selling point for me is Apple Watch representing another layer of filter for notifications.

On my iPhone, I may choose to receive notifications from fairly wide range of applications, such as Facebook and Instagram. But on Apple Watch, I can limit to far fewer, more important applications.

When WatchKit allows native 3rd party applications, which may even happen at this year's WWDC, Apple Watch apps will be able to serve information even when it is not tethered to iPhone, such as data tagged with "Apple Watch" on 1Password.

One could take the opposite view that it's just another device to manage endless settings for.

While you are not wrong, the end result is that I will be able to separate notifications that I don't need to know right away, but still good to know vs. those that maybe important to know right away.

haha.

Fair enough. You must have more time than I do.

That's a lot of setup :)

Look up golfshot on the App Store, the claim to be updating it with watch functionality before next Friday.

Yes, they have an app ready to go for release on the 24th. I have been communicating with their support and have confirmed. Can't wait for this app!

< stuff about sick people using the watch >

That's a weird take on things.

I'm anything but sick. I workout daily, sometimes multiple times a day. I'm a seasoned professional in the tech industry. I cannot wait to get my black stainless steel when it arrives in June. I personally know half a dozen or more people that have pre-ordered Apple Watches, none of them are doing it because they're ill and it'll help them tend to their illnesses.

I workout too.capable of One handed pull ups. Handstand push ups. Kicking ass through martial art. Still have found no use for apple watch as my brain and feedback from my body is doing a great job. You're different. I'm different. Like I say from my point of view it's great for sick people. Me.,, I'm not sold yet. I know when to do stuff.

We are both speculating about a device that neither of us have used much, if at all. It's rather pointless for either of us to use our current knowledge and assume how Apple Watch will be.

As for me personally, it is not a big deal to go to Apple Watch app's settings screen and toggle notifications for particular apps. From what I can tell, it does not appear as tedious as notifications setting for iPhone or iPad. I really only intend to turn on notifications for a handful of apps (when and if they become native Apple Watch app): calendar (ideally Fantastical), Due, mail (VIP contacts only), messages, Apple Pay/Passbook, and Dark Sky. For all other apps, I will only enable notifications if they do something truly useful.

Oh, to be clear, I'm not saying anyone has to like the watch or want it.

I'm just saying it's not being marketed to sick people, nor are sick people the only ones that will get use or value from it. I know when to do stuff, too. That's not at all why I'm getting one.

Until 4/24 comes we cant really say anything regardless of what the order status says.

Indeed. If no-one gets one delivered on 24/4/15, then we can get up in arms. Until then, it's mostly just stroppy people who like to whinge on the internet as they have nothing better to do...
