While I was gone this thread has become an even greater mess than before. With all this chit chat regarding fakes , please ...

@ A message to everyone with the real copy: You guys, you know these guys are just here to poke you around. We got the real deal and its pretty obvious you cant make an exact ripoff. The "recipe" still belongs to Elementcases and nothing will change that fact. So.. lets put that aside and devote this thread for the real fans of Elementcases.

For an update reminder, for anyone who cares, I happened to change my Silver to First Edition Graphite Grey, thanks to Elementcases support. They helped me change that on a friday evening, beyond their working times. Iam very thankful for that.

So.
Iam here.. Waiting for my copy that will ship on the 26th November.

Iam really stoooked seeing the First Edition with the White iPhone 5.

buying a knockoff sector 5 is like bringing a hungry baby to a titty bar to breastfeed......... it makes no sense

Oh man - this line killed me!! I needed a good laugh. Congrats good sir.

I'm not going to join in on the real vs. fake; My Sector 5 FE Graphite Grey ships tomorrow and I can't wait. My iPhone has been running naked since I got it (4 little scratches so far and I barely use it).

Anyone have experience placing the "new" rash guards. Is it easy?

May I ask, black or white iPhone 5?

Black.

Edit:
I just read your post that you have the white iPhone and await delivery of the FE Graphite Grey. That should be an interesting looking combo. It should look pretty sweet!!! I went with the Graphite Grey as well. I have a feeling it looks a little better with the white though.

Good question about the rash guards. Has anyone gotten them yet? How are they to install? Does the silver match the silver of the white phone?

Cool. :p
Im feeling lonley with the white & the FE combo tho. From the photos there is a blueish feel to the FE on the white but in real life its plain grey. I guess, in different lights its different. The contrast.. you know.

However... Why are people calling it "Graphite Grey" latley?
Before it was gun metal. Now the FE is marked graphite grey. Is there another first version of the FE or is the graphite grey the ONLY FE?
Sorry for the confusion.

I saw on their website they are including the "new" rash guards on orders that have yet to ship. That was a nice surprise. I'm interested to know how they look/feel. The older ones were really difficult to place and didn't add much aesthetic value to the phone. I presume these ones do.

Watch if you want. This is one of the latest unboxings of the FE showcasing the new rash guards, I pressume. Its 1:27 into the video.

That's funny because I'm the first person I know of to have a black case and yet my box was totally different from that, it says standard edition and not first edition even though I payed for the first and the receipt says first. But all the rest is the same. Guards are the same but they still are nothing like lucky labs! But they aren't that bad but no very good either.

Sorry for the confusion.

Graphite Grey was the name they gave it during pre-order. It looks different than the gun metal color they released on the 16th or the 19th for regular orders. The Graphite was limited edition release and I think the only FE. I just got an iPhone 5 a week ago and decided to go with black this time (had white before). I actually pre-ordered the Element case before I had a phone.

This case is so disgustingly amazing. Can't wait. Not too many people will have one - the FE Graphite Grey that is.

Indeed, its one hell of a masterpiece.
So, that clears things up.

I would like to see an in depth comparison of the gun metal and the FE Graphite grey. I do believe that I went with the right one (with the white) but hell, I wanna see it anyways.

Oh I forgot to answer your statement regarding which one it looks better on - I think that the black blends in just fine if not better than the white with the FE, tbh. So you shouldnt worry.

The FE and the SE gun metal is the SAME color and finish....

This is posted by Element on their official facebook page : "he color of the anodizing on a Sector 5 FE and Sector 5 SE in Gun Metal are the same. The difference is that the corner links are black on the FE and there is no FE logo on the inside of the SE"

It adds confusion when they rename it, you must admit. I have heard this and wrote it myself (this particular statement) but forget it by the second people mention "graphite grey".

I myself would appreciate if they kept the FE unique in every way but if thats what they wanna do, fine.

I think that posting is an error. If you look at the photos attached, they are clearly not the same.
The first is Graphite Grey, the second is Gun Metal.

To clear up all confusion, this was posted by "ecadmin" - a Element Case customer rep who posts replies regularly to questions. This is what they had to say about the Graphite Grey First Edition:

It was only available to those that signed up on the pre-order reservation list. It will cease to be available once the Sector 5 moves into public release.

Here is their official response for the difference between the FE and SE

The First Edition is Graphite Grey with black corner links and has a First Edition logo laser engraved on the inside of the case. The Standard Edition cases are either black or silver (so far), but do not have the First Edition logo on the inside.

This doesn't mention gunmetal (red part). So what I read here doesn't prove to me that the colors Graphite and gunmetal aren't the same color.

Different name, same color. The pictures are inconclusive, different background, lighting, Etc.

I guess you decided to gloss over this qualifying statement:

It was only available to those that signed up on the pre-order reservation list. It will cease to be available once the Sector 5 moves into public release.

Tell you what - give customer service a call Phone: (650) 486 1353 and report back your success on ordering a Graphite Grey SE Sector 5 case.

Good luck.

No!!! I did not gloss over that line. Do you have to be so sarcastic.

That line says to me that the first edition which at that time was called graphite by their marketing. was no longer available. That doesn't prove to me that they did not use another name for the color so that first addition purchasers would not be upset that they didn't get something special beyond the polymer connector color and the laser logo placed inside the bumper.

If a real company Rep. posted to this thread and said they weren't the same I would believe him. I'm not paranoid. If someone that had both told me they are different I would believe it. Your attempt at belittling me doesn't in any way convince me of anything. Do you think I simply didn't notice the different name? Please, give me a break.
(later edit)
I just read some of your other posts and I generally agree with them. the tone of your first line tends to escalate thinks. Just my opinion but I would include lines like "in my opinion" whether you're sure or not.

1. Not being sarcastic
2. I cited "ecadmin" a representative of the company that answers customer postings on their website
3. I provided a link for the citation
4. I provided a phone number for you to call them and find out for yourself.

What more can I do?

It's not just a change in name, but a different color - but if you think that they are the same color - knock yourself out. Sadly, they aren't - but there is nothing I can do to convince you otherwise outside of what I have done already.

Perhaps, if we are so lucky, if "ecadmin" is reading this thread perhaps you can post here directly and clarify the difference between "Gun Metal SE" and "Graphite Gray FE".

Have you tried the phone number. I've found it very hard, no impossible, to get through. I'm talking about normal business hours.

You must realize that "I guess you decided to gloss over this qualifying statement:" sounds sarcastic and belittling. The color issue aside, that kind of response puts people off.

Can we get an official statement on the FE and gun metal ?

Okay I just received an answer from their Facebook page;
(Now you know who Iam , hi there element ;))
Hi Element!

Q:
Hi Element!

Why are people writing "First Edition Graphite Grey" ?

Before it was called just "First Edition". Are there different color options for the First Edition of Sector 5 or is it just that people started to use that term "graphite grey"

A:
Probably because during the latter half of the pre-order period, the First Edition was available in Graphite Grey and SE was available in Black or Silver. They're just differentiating between the FE and SE.

This didn't give me the answer I wanted. I'll try to poke him again. Or is it my English that needs a fix?

Hopefully these two will quit fighting! I've seen them BOTH in my hands and they are exactly the same color period!! End of conversation! Name them what you want or think you have a special color but you don't! I can buy one today that is the exact color of your limited edition! How do you think they make so much money? By calling things limited edition! They always have and always will and as Long as people keep falling for it they will continue to do so! But you boys keep arguing! Your ruining this thread or I can get them both and take a pic side by side and you won't be able to tell the difference!! Guaranteed!!

----------

Can we get an official statement on the FE and gun metal ?
Yes same damn color! Official from my brain and hands!!

Ok I've got the clarification right here;

Sorry, I misunderstood the question the first time...

You can tell the good folks over at the MacRumors forum that the FE Graphite Grey and SE Gun Metal are the SAME color. The difference with the SE is the lack of the inside engraved "FE" logo and the corner links are clear instead of black.

I could also go on and on about the difference between CNC'd parts made by the counterfeiters and our CNC parts, but maybe we shouldn't stir that one up again... #

and now..................

we REALLY get to see if ElementCase overnight shipping truly means OVERNIGHT shipping!!!!!!!!!!!!!
