Security Update 2019-003 Update Is Out

This installed on the second attempt.

I didn’t disconnect my external USB3 drive. It’s a traditional spinner and - curiously - during the installation there was a lot of drive activity. I could hear it and the (external) drive light was flashing.

Any idea what’s going on there? Is the update installer being written to the external drive?
