I don't get it...you've got to be absolutely blind and ignorant not to want technology and quality to advance, i.e. IPS panels.

LMAO is obviously uninformed, and basically admitted it, and has obviously never seen an IPS display. almost everything Apple makes is IPS now, and while they make a gorgeous TN panel, they don't hold a candle to an IPS panel. I know this since I've been hooking up my MBP to a 24 inch ACD--which is IPS--for the last year.

Did you complain and act hostile and childish when Apple started using LED displays too, iLMAO? If it were up to you we'd be using junk CCFL displays with no LED backlight still.

IPS panels aren't even expensive and don't really add to the cost, dude, but I'm sure you didn't even look, nor know that the iMacs and 24 inch displays use big ones already (much bigger than the displays in the laptops) and have been for some time given that you'd never heard of them before the iPad keynote, and are cheap as ever.

Stop angrily trashing a welcome technological progression you clearly have shown you know absolutely nothing about. You sound like a bumbling jackass idiot.

I'VE NEVER HEARD OF THIS TECHNOLOGY AND ADMITTEDLY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT IT BUT I'M GOING TO COME ON MAC RUMORS AND TRASH IT AND ANYONE WHO WANTS TECHNOLOGY TO ADVANCE AND I DON'T EVEN HAVE A REASON BECAUSE THE REST OF APPLE'S LINEUP WHICH USES BIG PANELS FOR CHEAP PUTS A BIG HOLE THROUGH MY ONE AND ONLY COST THEORY HUR HUR HURRRRR

See how you sound to everyone else? 'Nuff said.

A good friend of mine has a Lenovo x61t, at some point his screen broke so he replaced it with the optional IPS screen.

Fricken amazing. Believe me, when you've used it, you'll want one. If you love the iMac screens, you'll want one, and if you fap off to the iPad's screen (I know you will), then you'll want one.

The iPad is $499 and comes with a freaking IPS screen. Think about that, if the iPad can have it, so can the MBPs.

Even then, my MBP budget is $1500. If Apple made a 15" $2000 MBP with an IPS screen and an i5/i7, I'd buy it! rofl.

Since when are MacBook Pro's "moderate" laptops? They are Professional notebooks, they are premium. Also it is a good thing to be a demanding consumer, why wouldn't you be. And yes IPS>TN, not only for viewing angles but the simple fact TN is incapable of dsiplaying true color they are only 6bit.

The whole "Pro" category is a useless made up one. But there are PLENTY or laptops with better hardware (for better price).

I don't have to take trash from big mouthed nobodies. I really don't care what trolls or little midgets like you think.

It amazes me to see how bloody block headed some individuals like you can be - for one last time - I want technology to advance, but in a civilized manner - not by saying "oh look the current LED monitors are useless pieces of *******". Chickens like you have only so much capability to come on forums and cluck about and weep like curly little turds like "ooh Apple doesn't have this, ooh Apple doesn't have that, waah wwaah waahh" give it a break you dumb loser !

If you don't understand one simple English sentence -- that I DO want Apple to come up with new features and products in their line up INCLUDING IPS DISPLAYS but it DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE TO CLAIM THE PRESENT DISPLAYS ARE BAD -- then you should stop being a malingered git and find someone to fund you to go back and learn English in high school.

I may be uninformed but you can keep your ****** 'everybody pay attention to me for I'm the omniscient monkey' act to yourself for a change.

I *am* a demanding customer. I visited Apple's feedback page several times in the last year requesting for features, mostly software, on the iPhone. Many people seem to get me wrong here and it really feels bad -- I do want technology to advance and I do want better products to come to the Apple community since its something to be proud of. I just don't want some proud trolls trashing Apple for quality products they already have in expectation of new features they want.

If Apple puts IPS panels into the new MBPs then all the wait would have been totally worth it.

Also screw IPS. I want OLED displays.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OLED#Disadvantages
OLED surely has potential but I don't think it's ready yet. Furthermore, TFT displays have improved steadily over the past few years.

The whole "Pro" category is a useless made up one. But there are PLENTY or laptops with better hardware (for better price).
Depends...

There are many notebooks out there that outspec the current MacBook Pro line in terms of features and performance, but not many that can keep up in terms of build quality, display quality, noise, battery life and overall hard- and software integration. The ones that do are usually in the same price range.
At the moment the MBP models are a bit behind in terms of technology but as we all know, a refresh is expected soon.
