See it's just the overall visual look that gets me..yeah the bugs will go with final release but for me I felt well if Apple is now like Android might aswell jump ship but just makes me feel why did Apple have to add all these features because half them are not any use. Too many settings, different browsers, anti virus I don't get it?

I liked the overall colours of the IOS6 keyboard to the thick design of Iphone 5 to the heavy blocky icons and games.

For me IOS7 has much better functions but it's all down to how the software looks. May improve with IOS8, 9 but can't see that far ahead. :(

Lord... and I thought only girls were shallow about appearances.

Switching to another OS because you saw a BETA version of the OS you're using, that you don't like, is retarded.

I stress the word retarded.

I'm glad you're regretting it after all the stink you've been making about iOS.

The grass isn't always greener...

It's more fashionable to use it as it is plus when buying a phone for me it should have a decent software out of the box.

Nothing changes majorly unless you want it to. When an iphone is JB the software doesn't change it is still the same, you dont visually see any change at all..just Cydia.

As Rofigan said about an iOS 6 style theme, i'm staying on iOS 6 until a JB and said theme is available for iOS 7!

Fashionable

There's no perfect phone. That's why we have choices. All have their pro's and con's.

I like variety so I use both Android and iOS. It's the ideal solution for me.

I don't like IOS7 so switched over to Android and not enjoying that much better.

Windows/Blackberry are not offering much really.

I really wish I had just stayed with IOS6 however app updates ect..would have made it unusable down the line.

I am struggling to consider a 5S with IOS7 and Android well for me is all the same whatever handset you go for. As a tech lover I feel I'm out of options.

Anyway I jumped to Android only to realise it's similar to what's coming in IOS7. Can't win then? :(

The last line is something i realized the OP has written about that i am confused about. Most here who complain about IOS 7 being a copy of Android and how this is b.s. that Apple has done this etc. So what do they do? Ditch Apple for an Android phone. Which basically looks like IOS 7. Doesn't make sense to me.

No reason to switch now.

Although unlikely, Apple could make changes to address some of the criticisms.

Google is expected to unveil a new, revamped Android UI (5.0) in October, which will reportedly be more IOS6-like. I wouldn't want to buy an existing Android unless I was sure it would get the new UI.

It serves your right for judging an OS in the BETA stages, also to then not only regret your decision but to regret it whilst iOS7 is still in BETA stages is even more stupid than your first stupid decision to condemn it on the first place.

You say you don't like an OS that is not ready yet? I would say to wait till iOS 7 comes out. Sure, some of the changes aren't good, but the general direction is great and the OS looks really fresh and nice. Give it a chance.

I've used Android for over a year in total as my daily driver, but every time (I used TouchWiz 2.3, 4.0, 4.2 then stock 2.3, 4.0 and 4.2) I miss the "change with buttons" option from iOS. It really annoys me to press volume down in anticipation for some app making noise, just to lower my ringer which also does a sound on every step. Most people have more major issues with Android, I do as well, but this just always annoys me (100% first world problem eh?).

For what it's worth, a guy in my office still runs iOS 4 on his iPhone 4 out of choice, and he seems to have no issues with it. Also, iOS 6 is still the current OS so I can't see it would suddenly become unusable in a year or more?

My wife has an Android and honestly I don't like it at all. That maybe because I'm just so used to iPhone amd how it works. Her Galaxy just seems overly complex to do what I think are simple tasks.

I don't undertand people changing phones because they don't like icons. Icons only get you to applications which is really what is important. Or they don't like what the screen looks like. Can you do what you need to do and can you read the screen? I can understand if you need a file system on your phone then Apple isn't for you but because you don't like the look or icons or the background that just doesn't seem a good reason to pick a phone.

To me, jumping ship in the tech world is kind of pointless. The technology develops at such a fast rate, that next year you'll find something new to jump to. Then six months later something different. For me, and this is just a personal philosophy when it comes to choosing your gadgets, is integration. It happens to be Apple in my case. I like that my mac, iphone, and ipad are all connected, and when I make a change on one it shows up on the other, and my whole life, work, etc stay with me at home or on the road. Now, Apple is not the only platform that does this - Windows is beginning to push a similar philosophy (they're even pushing it in their latest ads). Android too, though it's not there yet.

So I'm not necessarily concerns with having the latest, the greatest, or the coolest. I'm concerned with having everything sync. And if there are a few "wicked cool" features that one OS has that my iphone does not, I can live with that. Because jumping ship every time something new or cooler comes out just gets exhausting.

I have considered switching (again), but just can't do it.

I tried Android (Nexus) several months ago and made it just a few days before I switched back. The big screen is nice, but it just isn't an iPhone.

I am also tied pretty tightly to iCloud, Calendar, iTunes and so on. I know there is similar stuff on Google, but I prefer Mac stuff.

A bigger screen iPhone would be awesome! I think we won't see one this year, unfortunately.

I am sticking with iOS for now... (My opinion)

Um...doesn't the Nexus 4 have the same size screen as the iPhone 5?

made a similar mistake last year when iOS 6 was released. I was underwhelmed and bought a Galaxy S3.

that switch lasted a whole week before I came back. And after getting the iphone 5 nothing else compares.

screen size and over the top hardware specs aren't everything especially when dealing with Android.

In the end my biggest gripe with Android was the lack of polish and quality, especially when it comes to app quality. I miseed the great apps that werent available on android.

I did the same thing really. The iOS7 announcement was a little underwhelming, so I tried the SGS4. I'm completely fine with either OS as I can get what I need to get done on both. It really comes down to the finer point. I also tried the Sony ZL, which is a really nice android phone, but at the end of the day I'm back to the 5 with iOS7. It does "more" of what I need in an easier to use fashion with a better user experience. If you use your phone a lot, it's the little things that add up.

I will also say that after using iOS7 for a couple of weeks now, the stuff that use to bother me (the visual look) doesn't bother me much if at all any more. You get used to it and you start appreciating the new little features that are in there.

Wow...some people will never be satisfied.

Why not WAIT until the final version of iOS 7 is released before deciding you need to jump ship? Or take the time to do some research on Android and Android based handsets before just walking into the "phone shop" and letting some sales guy talk you into something you don't like?

Buying and selling phones and switching platforms isn't exactly a quick/easy/cheap task in most cases...seems like we should have thought this one through a bit more?
