Select Apple Stores Remain Open Temporarily for Customers With Pending Sales and Repair Pickups

Would people be allowed to bring in their iphones to repair? Because the ear piece in my friends iphone seemingly died out of nowhere
It’s time to learn doing things differently. Just call 1-800-MY APPLE, have a tech remotely run diagnostics on the phone and have them set a repair at an authorized service center. Who knows, you might enjoy the “other” way of having products fixed!
People go to the Apple Store for stupid reasons and spend time and gas for a 2-mn fix which could have been done in the same amount of time on the phone.

But how will I buy my AppleCar and $999 steering wheel??
You wait in a queue until the store opens for you. I can sell you a steering wheel at $888, which is a bargain that you surely will jump at. I'll even put an Apple sticker on it for you and include a bottle of hand wash.

Yeah the support rep did mention I could be compensated for the inconvenience once the store reopens. I'm assuming he meant a discount on the repair or maybe even free repair.
I think he meant the fact that you avoid the risk of being infected.

My MacBook was out for repairs and the store called me to let me know to come pick it up. No problems at all. They were open yesterday 12-4 and said they will be open today (Sunday) and Monday.

My daughter’s MacBook is also out for repairs and she has been trying to reach the store to change the return shipment to home rather than the store but hasn’t been able to get thru. I told her to try the “Manager” trick others have discussed.

Sydney has at least broadway Apple store open and I just got my Apple TV issue sorted out. They just stop anyone from entering the store. Not sure if that Apple store will open on Monday tho.

Just got off the phone with our local Apple Store - they called us - and they are shipping our daughter’s MacBook directly to our home once the repairs are completed. We just had to give them a credit card to pay for the repairs since her system is no longer covered by AppleCare. They are handling this situation well, in my opinion.

There should be info on the Apple homepage about this but there isn't. They shut my local store (UK) before my city even have a single confirmed coronavirus case. I want them to post info about how you get AppleCare replacements if your device gets accidentally smashed while wrestling other people for toilet rolls.

I have a customized iMac that was to be delivered to the Apple Store this coming Tuesday since the stores closed won't be able to pick it up. I asked Apple if they would ship it from the closed store to my house but they weren't able to accommodate me. I then purchased a refurbished Mac and canceled my customized Mac. When I purchase my refurbished Mac from the Apple Store they told me there were no discounts offered to people inconvenienced by the closing of the Apple store.

I had an iMac repair that was supposed to be ready for pickup today. When I called apple support earlier today they said I would have no other choice but to wait until the stores reopen. I asked if they could at least ship me a refurb computer as a loaner in case the stores stay closed for a long time, but they said that wasn't possible.
Oh, that sucks. Sorry, man. They should at least mail it to you.

I am really impressed by Apple's response. I had my 2016 MBP in for a keyboard replacement when local school districts started to close. Then Apple left me two voicemails about picking up my machine ASAP before they called a third time and got through.

Upon arrival at the local Apple Store, the doors were closed but there were several employees answering questions. They took my info, checked my ID and promptly delivered my MacBook. I had to sign their iPad, and they clearly said it had been stabilized (as they had done two days earlier when I dropped my machine off). They also said my laptop had been sterilized and yes -- clean as a whistle.

Given the human density of the Apple Store, it makes sense to close. There are times when that store has more people in it than most of the rest of the mall.

Of course, my sympathies to anyone who was inconvenienced by the decision to close.

I’m trying to return my refurb MacBook and I can’t get the label to show in my account despite Apple support chat resending it to me. The agent advised me that store are staying open from 12p-5p through tomorrow to handle returns for those who cannot wait until the store opens. Not sure how true this is but I guess I’ll give it a shot tomorrow.

They should just keep stores open but no one allowed inside...just let people drop off and pick up. This is just ridiculous.

Ridiculous is your self entitled view of how workers should be endangered. Some people have loved ones at home that are at risk. If you want a product, order online. Want a repair done? will have to wait as your devices are probably dirty and should not be touched by anyone.

How precious is your time though ?

I recon all Apple employees that must go to work should weak masks... I mean. how do THEY escape from this ?
