As usual some people here find the need to over exaggerate especially when it comes to putting Apple down for their products updates. I just checked out the WWDC opening to see what you were talking about it. Craig Ferderighi briefly went over the new interface and talked about the transparency. He wasn't "Gushing" over it and he wasn't making a huge deal of it. He was explaining the evolution of OS X since inception. People like to have a fresh updated interface whether or not it serves as an upgrade to functionality. But I guess it's a big deal when Microsoft removes the Start button, then puts it back after consumer frustration and calls it a "Feature". Please don't over-exaggerate.

He doesn't like anything Apple does. Pay no attention to him.

RTL Languages: Hebrew and Arabic

I'm pretty disappointed. Unicode could have been adding much more important things that are actually used in print:

There are still no Unicode code points for the shva na and interpolated divine names. Currently, doing this requires special software, equipment and training.

The Unicode Consortium also still hasn't fixed the behavior of right-to-left (RTL) languages interspersed with left-to-right (LTR) languages. This has been broken for decades. Multilingual users have been forced to enter their text out-of-order, just to get stuff to appear in the right order on-screen. Here's an example from Facebook:

It's a bit infuriating that Unicode has been playing around with smileys and icons that no one ever used before or cares about.

If shva na and interpolated divine (whatever they are) are added to Unicode, I guess we should also add something for the Flying Spaghetti Monster. There are some workarounds right now, but I would prefer to have an official one.

But . . . .

Is it me or does that Owl have no beak?

I never grasped why Apple used an Unicode (mainly Japanese) based smilie system. The amount of Symbols not used in or understood in the west is huge. Food, Love hotels *cough* Japanese School symbols etc, If we can have National language Char sets, why not Emojis/Smilies?

. . . and that Cucumber, doesn't look like a Cucumber. I know a few girls who have things like that, but they're made from glass ;)

can we loose some... many of the useless ones?

there are some many useless ones that NEED to go. they are just clutter.

and yet so many could be added that seem obvious misses.

This collection though... is CRAP.

only 1 eye cocked brow option?
no zombie?
