I'll be selling one of my cheese graters soon.
I do have the original Apple box and the styrofoam.

Is that enough of a package or do I need to wrap that box too in a bubblewrap and then build a box with massive amount of tape around that? I don't see how I can get a box that large.

If I ship UPS and do need to file a claim is the original spacing OK? I think they want 3" of padding between the item and the outside wall of the box.

I recently sold a cMP, and I shipped it in the same box that Mac of All Trades had used to send it to me when I bought it. It had about 2-3" of form-fit softish styrofoam at the ends (covering the front and back of the Mac), with nothing in the center. I did wrap the Mac in a plastic bag for moisture protection. The box itself was single-corrugated, and I believe the final dimensions were 25 x 23 x 15, to give you an idea of the spacing around the Mac itself. I shipped UPS ground, and it made it to the seller with no issue. Granted, my cMP wasn't exactly a looker anymore with lots of scuffs, but the integrity of the case was still very good.

I'm guessing your box is something similar, if not better since it's the original box. My new iMac came similarly packaged from Apple. it wasn't double-packaged or anything--just a corrugated shipping box outside a thinner white box, with the iMac surrounded in form-fit styrofoam inside that. Also consider the cMP is a 45lb tank of thick aluminum--the foam is just there to absorb the shock and eliminate stress points during shipping.

Just my experiences on some recent shipping that might help.

I bought a used cMP.

It came in the original box, but inside was a mix of boxes covering the legs, bubble wrap, etc.

It must have shifted in shipment and dropped and result was leg bent.

I shipped a classic Mac Pro chassis from the US to Europe in an Apple Mac Pro box - the legs were damaged in shipping. I suggest double boxing with bubble wrap between the boxes - UPS can do this for you, they have big boxes.

Will UPS sell me the box first? I want to have it all boxed up and have size/weight all setup prior to auction start.

I received my used Mac Pro in its original box from Kansas to Miami with USPS. No Damage.
