I do not believe you will be covered if you are shipping it out of the country. I got an email like this but the guy was from Singapore. If he really wants it tell him to wire all the money directly to your bank account so he cannot cancel it. His Paypal account or credit card could have been stolen.

Lol, once i read Africa i automaticlly said it was a scam. There was like a whole MSNBC documentary on these scammers from Africa that steal identities.

Your urgent response will be highly appreciated.
Thanks and God bless.
melinda.1@operamail.com

be very careful
this person isnt trying to get your phone
theyre trying to hack your account

and seeing as you must have paypal linked to some credit card or bank accout
you dont want that to happen

Warning DO NOT SELL TO THAT SCAMMER he will send you a FAKE paypal email saying you got funds and when you check your paypal balance you will have $0.00@!

Watch out for these idiots

Those bastards are everywhere from e bay to Craigslist. I sold two Omega Seamaster watches and an Iphone on Craigslist and I got about 10 of those emails. Usually I just reply by sayin F*%K OFF. :D

Ebay states on their website to never deal directly with bidders. Most likely so they aren't left out of the profit of the deal but to protect you against scams.

Are you sure your iPhone isn't listed on craigslist, cause that sure does sound like a craigslist scam email.

I love getting scam emails on craigslist cause they make me laugh, and I always reply with some nasty potty mouth remarks. hehe :D

Here's what I do when I get spammers like this. I reply with a message saying I take cash only, I will provide a P.O. Box at his request. Of course, he responds with a repeat of his original request, with some other lame information. I again respond saying I just got out of prison for charges of identity theft and I just got out from under my 2nd bankruptcy. I even agreed to lower my price. My fun ended as the responses stopped. :(

I always add in my ebay/craigslist descriptions something to the effect of:

'For both of our protection, I will only ship to your confirmed paypal addresses. I will not ship internationally. At this time, I do not accept payment by fake overseas Money Orders, but if you insist, maybe you can help me transfer 14 million dollars out of my country.'

I also only allow people with paypal accounts to bid on my auctions (yes, paypal is evil; but bad checks and fake money orders are more evil, and I don't have the sales volume to open a merchant account), that cuts out on a lot the BS up front.

Has there been a concensus? Is it a scam? How about most things going to Africa? Has there been an agreement yet as to whether or not those are also scams? It would be nice to have an unambiguous answer.

If you have any doubt, then why take the chance?

I go for a persons good rep on ebay being at or close to 100%. Craigslist, i dont use very much . Scammers there to and you cant rate them.

no way this is a scam, hurry and send your info before you lose this great deal. Oh and make sure you include your social security number too. Congrats on the great deal!
