However it does allow you to push your footage more when dealing with VFX and grading.

Since grading operations are calculated at very high bit depths with no compression, it's only upon rendering that you see the benefits of ProRes. Makes no difference if you start your grade with a native H.264 or one you've converted to ProRes.

I was reading your posts.

Perhaps the right time for me to buy a dSLR will be in two to three years.

I am imaginning, or I foresee a camera that is like the Canon 550d, but
with a better video capability. You have mentioned that dSLRs video
capability is not at its best at the moment.

Who knows, maybe for the current price we could also get the full frame chip in two or three years.

As for handling, it may sound crazy, but I like the feel some middle format
cameras had. I remember holding a hasselblad in my hands, but perhaps
that it is just me.
