I try to balance work/life as best I can. The commute almost adds 2 hours to the day so I always try for only 8 at the office. I strive for productivity versus long days. I'd rather take a 30 min lunch and leave at 5, etc.

Life is too short to work all the time, but they do compensate me very fairly so I can afford to buy all these toys.

The Apple toys are very important in my life. As I write this on my iPad looking at the Mac mini and new Mac Pro on my desk both of which do the same job. What the heck if you want it and can afford it then buy it. Life is too short to worry about justifying every purchase. And I don't even have an iPhone!

People would soon realize that the watch will become unwanted. Am I bitter, yes. It's apples fault that they screwed up this launch. My honeymoon is over with this thing. I'm already losing interest as the day goes by... Now focusing my excitement in the new iPhone 6s plus... Yeee baby!!!!!
Just to help balance out the downers, I am digging my watch more by the hour. It's the iPhone that, short of a major camera upgrade, I have no interest in. My 6 does everything I need (and it is only marginally better than my 5s, which was the cat's meow). But that's all just IMO. :D

Love the iPhone... I would go nuts if they discontunue it haha

Massive thread for returns.

What day is this? :D

I think I would give it at least a couple more hours.

When I buy clothing I absolutely never know if it will stick for at lest a month. I know this sounds strange, but comfort ( or use-ability ) is not clear cut for me.

The problem is the return window. This can cost you :D

I love mine. I bought the sport as I wanted the lightest version and planned to use it for fitness. At this price point it is easy to justify -- I have fine watches too and have no desire to replace them. I love this for fitness and have had many inferior fitbit products that in aggregate cost me way more than the apple watch. And it is priceless to be able to answer the phone while doing dishes etc. not to mention the extraordinary feeling of holding the future on ones wrist. It is not a perfect device but it is a glimpse of the future of wearable tech.

I am pretty happy with mine, but definitely don't regret just buying the Sport, at least for V1. I will really know whats up after a week of use.

Aside from the original iPhone when has Apple recently slashed prices on anything? It's not happening.
Apple is certainly the master at making huge profits. Yet after nearly three full days dedicated to using my Apple Watch, I've learned it well, having nearly memorized the manual, watched the videos etc. I can see why some love it, but I'm not one.

Nor do I hate it or even dislike it for that matter.

It's interesting and entertaining in some ways indeed. But of value for my preferences, not yet, not even close. I said yet because I'm going to continue with it for at least a week, carefully watching what's new in apps.

Time will tell.

i 've been meaning to get a nice watch for a while now and the ones that i like cost about $200 - $300. can't quite justify paying that much just for "nice" and time so the apple watch makes perfect sense for me.

It's a super computer on your wrist. If you can't think of a task for it then you're not using your imagination.

Within a few months, the number of apps available will explode and the watch will be Apple's great new platform.

Not on this version. Take my word for it.

Apple tried, it did not work.
So they came up with WatchKit and mostly static data.
I know it's hard to accept, but this will not be the "Apps on your wrist" watch.

iPhone will eclipse the watch in no time... I can't wait for the new iPhone.

I'm not 100% on this, although you may be right. Why?

It's just a tarted up Nano underneath. No reason they couldn't just default it to this.

That's what I bought it for. Now, you may be right, and it's going to be gimped in any form, but Apple in the past has been very responsive to user wants.

We shall just have to wait and see.

But I will say this; from what i've read so far, the way it is now will not work for me. They will need to allow much more user control.

I'm sure it will. I just wanted to say that people should not have high hopes that this years model will improve in magical ways.

The watch needs a better CPU at higher clock rates to execute real Apps.
Right now it just display a canvas of data from iPhone Apps.

I'm sure it's all running already, but the battery life was so horrible they had to come up with what we habe today.

The next watch will be much better ... and my guess is it will be here sooner than some of you might wish for. (My guess: Spring 2016 before WWDC)

Where is this "Marketplace"?

The Marketplace here on the MacRumors forums. You can sell the watch to a fellow member. Or you can return it if its easier for you to the Apple Store. Just a thought.

I think koi should hold out, but admittedly, I don't have mine yet. I think between the App Store and software updates you'll see major improvements. It's worth hanging on to just to see how much more useful it can become for you.

I understand framing the value of the watch in terms of utility and problem solving, but I think we're being a little too critical on average. I have and like the watch because I wanted one and I think it is cool - simple as that.

That said, I am finding little moments where I realize that it helps me or serves a purpose in ways that my phone never could. I think it is going to take time to fully understand the scope of usefulness. Giving up on it after only a few days feels shortsighted to me, but to each their own.

I don't know. I used the remote app to control my Apple TV today. At first I was like, wow... This is cool. And then I realized my phone was literally right beside me and I could do the same thing on it.

So far the coolest part is the fitness tracking. Pinging my phone when I can't find it (usually underneath me lol) and silencing my phone alarm from the other side of the house.

I'm still undecided on mine. One day I think something is cool, the next it's annoying.

Today is my first day at work, where I have my iPhone sat on my desk, and the watch now feels totally redundant ('stand up' alerts aside) as I can see the notifications easily. Additionally, I've had to roll my shirt sleeves up, as viewing the notifications on my wrist became irksome with the sleeve covering it - might sound minor, but it soon got very annoying.

Having said that, I mostly enjoyed the watch experience over the weekend (wearing a t-shirt), being able to leave my phone on a table and not worry about missing anything when I was moving in and around my house.

One of the main issues I'm having however, is "old watch" guilt - I have a beautiful (and quite expensive) Raymond Weil watch, which has sentimental attachment, sat in my underwear drawer waiting for a special/smart occasion to wear it, which makes me feel bad :(
