Another month, another significantly tougher challenge!

I actually like having a target you can smash and bring your average down. Talking of which. Average is 1186. Today I’ve done 1206 so far. So that’s getting a bit ahead in my book.
Agreed - I am hoping that my longer weekend runs will give me enough extra calories to at least give me a shot at my challenge, even if it takes all of the month.

I never ever run, I cycle! Why don't I ever get cycling challenges?! I missed August (closing all rings for every day) because my battery threw a wobbly one day and needed recharging twice as it just died as soon as it got below 50% and this month (as with other running months) is also a no no. Ah well.
and the worst thing about cycling is - the watch underestimates calories. Almost same calories for walking and cycling for 90 minutes despite an increase of 40-50bpm when cycling.

If I do 'Mixed cardio' instead of outdoor cycling, it gives 2X

Reactions: Runs For Fun
Been awhile since I’ve had a mileage challenge. But this is the kind of thing that has me thinking that Apple is secretly listening to my conversations. I’ve been talking lately about getting back into running. Even signed up for a half-marathon next April. So maybe they’re trying to push me into the running. Doc told me to lose a few lbs yesterday too at my physical. 162.3 miles this month to get my pixelated medal.

I normally walk 3/4 a mile each way to and from the park and ride vanpool to work. Most of my exercise is elliptical and circuit training with a little bit of treadmill and stair master mixed in. So this one will definitely be a CHALLENGE to complete, unless the watch gives me credit for my elliptical time as walking. I use another app called SweatCoin which does. So there’s hope. If anyone wants to join me on sweatcoin, here’s a link that will give us each 5 extra coins.

Check out this free app — It Pays to Walk https://sweatco.in/i/rob779207

It’s a free app with some opportunities to earn some free stuff which may or may not appeal to you.

Ok, this may prove to be more doable than I first realized. I logged 4.2 miles yesterday without much effort, and I skipped my evening trip to the gym which always includes somewhere between 30-60 minutes on the elliptical and/or treadmill, depending on what’s on the docket that night. But I did my afternoon 45 minutes at work on the elliptical and got credit for that.

375 miles this month. Normally wouldn't be an issue, but: I had already decided to skip a few days of running to start the month due to lingering foot and ankle soreness, I have a multi-day car trip coming up later this month where most of the days' miles will be of the driving sort, and just yesterday I pulled a back muscle in the gym so my running may be more curtailed than I was even thinking. See you next month?

I hate this. When I do Spin classes the calories are always way off despite my heart rate being about the same as when I run. It's the same issue on the elliptical as well. Really annoying.
