September 21, who's calling in sick to work?

I'm on paid vacation that weekend so I'm camping. It's been a long time since I camped out for an Apple product so this will be fun.

Correct, They forward to overseas customers. So because of that our address is flagged. Even though I got lucky on the iPad 3 due a miracle call back from apple I don't want to go through that again. My kid should be home on the 21st i just hope he's away by the time fedex comes to my house. If not then i'm screwed having to drive 30 mins to pick it up after work.
 
I'm the boss at my company and I declared Friday a national holiday. I let my workers have the day off, as 99% of them pre-ordered. Of course it depends on their work performance, but all of their work performances are above and beyond expectation.
 
I finish work at 1pm and my son will be under STRICT orders to stay in in the morning incase it's delivered then. :cool:

Normally i get Wed, Thur off so I just asked them to move my days for that week and get Thurs, Fri off instead it worked out great got to watch Cnets ustream during the apple event now i get the 21st off to set up and play with my new toy like its really going to take a day, after about and hour i feel like its goint to be just another iphone to me haha but i love it all the same
 
Don't need to, as a student I'm off at the moment til middle of October. So I can wait in anyway. Although I did re-arrange an occupational health appointment twice because they both coincided with pre order day and launch day. They should know better really. ;)
 
i dont have a job..but i do have class in the morning, i should not miss it though ups comes in the evening..i am a bit tense.

You are a great boss! My boss is really terrific. She's the one who convinced me to order the phone to begin with. Since it's a slow time at work and hectic budget season is coming up, it's a good time to take it off. I do a lot of extra work at home and reply to emails on vac days so my performance is not an issue.

I'm planning to work from home until it arrives, then head out and look for a temporary case until Specks come out. If she has any issue with it, I'll go to work after it gets here or try asking Fedex to hold it and pick it up in the morning on my way in.

I have a certain amount of days I have to take every year but no matter what, I get 4 weeks off. My husband though has a bunch more days he has to take or lose them so I often try to get him to take a Friday off whenever.

My company also doesn't really have sick days, you can take off if you are sick or just need a personal day and it's not counted against vacation.
 
I live in ireland so its coming out the 28th just thought id join the thread :D Have to take a weeks holidays between now and end of October from work. So going to take from the 28th off.
 
I thought about it. My sister works for verizon so I will be picking up a bag of iphone 5's at 10am. then going to work. The family will be phoneless for a day.
For the iphone 4 I took the day off, had tons of vacation to burn.
For the 4S i joined the ranks in line, never do that again.

If you are worrying about it needing a signature upon delivery, you can pre-sign for it now on your account on the apple website :)

Exactly what I'm doing. Getting it delivered to work, sign for it and that's that!!
