I got lucky. I had surgery last month and am on medical leave until October 8th.
I told the husband that he better pack his own lunch if he wants it. I ain't leaving the house until that iPhone is in my hot little hands :D

Does that qualify you as a "great mom"? :D

Considering the fact that I supported her through college and still do while she job hunts, that makes me the fricking Best Mom of the Universe.

I wasn't able to ship mine to work so I'm going to work remotely in the morning until fedex shows up and then take the rest as a vac day. I have a ton to use anyway. Unfortunately my boss is off until Thursday so she can't officially ok it until then. But she's pretty good and if not, I'll go in after it arrives for a few hours. I'm too afraid to have it sitting on my front porch all day.

I don't work mornings on Fridays, as I have class, however I will be skipping my first two classes Friday morning to be first in line for my phone.

Sorry but if you actually plan to take the day off simply because the iPhone is being shipped there is some thing really wrong in your life. (of course if there is NO other option than sure, why not) I know it's a huge generalization but come on, is the new iPhone really that important that you need to alter your daily life to get it? Maybe I'm missing something but my god, it's a phone people.

Your spelling... Laughable concept
Grammar and spelling police!! Thanks for your help in busting this guy.... he deserves to be whipped with a strap!

Morality and life lessons police!!!!! Thanks for adding your insight to the thread, you are on a Mac forum, preaching to people not to be excited over a new Mac device. Also, you should try changing your daily routine, makes for a more interesting life. Maybe these guys are bored with their daily 9-5, who are you to tell them what to be excited about?

Commenting on spelling/grammar is against forum rules, adding an opinion to a conversation isn't.

Plus I guess reading comprehension is a bit of an issue for you as I never told anyone what to be excited or not excited about. Simply stated my opinion that an iPhone isn't a reason to change your daily life. Don't like my opinion by all means let's discuss that but your childish response pretty much ensures that I won't be discussing anything with you. Have a good one!

I thought about taking the day off, but I have it being delivered to my work so I'll play with it there.

ATT will only ship to billing addresses and Fedex delivers to my area in the morning. I really don't want mine sitting outside until 5pm. I tried to have it delivered to work but they would not let me change the address. I took the day off when i had my speaker system delivered too. Some things are too expensive to take a chance on getting stolen.

Was going to request it off, and still might...but I can just work from home that day....since I'll just be sitting at home waiting for the delivery guy anyway, might as well just work remotely.

Still might take it off though, so I don't have to work after receiving my new toy, which with my luck won't come until 5pm if I took the day off anyways.

People calling in sick for a phone ARE sick, just not in the way they are claiming to their boss.

I tried to get my iPad 3 delivered to my job launch day but then they cancelled my order. When I called and asked why they said it was a freight forwarder address even though I worked in the same location they cancelled it. I was pissed off even though I called several times no luck and gave up. They called me back in the afternoon to tell me if I still wanted the iPad 3 and I said hell yea but wanted it delivered to my job since I won't be at home, The person re-opened my order and had it shipped to my job on launch day.

While I was happy I don't want to go through that crap again lol. I'm sure if i had it delivered to my job the order would of been cancelled for sure I bet.

I agree with that. That's why I added if there is no other option part of my response. I would def not leave it outside all day. Fed Ex will only do that if you have the pre signed paper.... at least that's the way it's supposed to be.

I am going to work 10 hours on Monday and Tuesday, and leave work after 4 hours on Friday at 11AM. :) I am going to sign the pre-sign sheet from FedEx in case it's delivered before 11AM.

Oh man that is not good. I googled "freight forwarder address" because I was confused. So you work at a business that regularly forwards mail and packages? Meaning if I work in a normal building this shouldn't happen?

I have taken the day off. I work at different customers every day so I couldn't send it to a work address. So I will be waiting for my new iPhone at home.

Some of us get paid on vacation days. Usually by the end of the year I have days I need to take or I'll lose them. As a result I take days off whenever I feel like it, not because I have to have a major reason to justify it. I am going to work on Friday, but I wouldn't give a second thought to staying home.

As an alternative I could have worked Monday - Thursday and not burned any vacation as opposed to my normal Tuesday - Friday work week (4 10's).
