I don’t want to rehash my sorry ass story why I’m in this window as I can’t figure it out myself. First year not on launch day since 5. Anyway, has anyone seen their dates change with this order window. I’m still seeing “your order will be ready soon/processing”. I just hope I’m one of the lucky ones to get a new delivery date. Unfortunately, the nearest Apple store is several hundred miles away. Since I used 1up I’m a little stuck and going to have to learn some patience. Just hoping some with this date get bumped earlier. Since so many are shipping from China, instead of warehouses in the US, this is pretty unlikely.

Do they usually open up more availability on the day of?

I’m trying to get a 256 GB one, but none of my stores have it available right now.

My wife and I ordered at 6am. We are both in this window. Verizon 512 max. We aren’t in any rush as we have 8+. Still hoping to get it earlier as when I ordered many stores had the phone available for pickup. We still did delivery. Maybe it will change tomorrow. :)

Last year was in a similar situation with my preordered 8+. Came direct from China many days after people picked up in stores.

Checking date daily. Will let you know if it changes.
 
I used the Apple Store app on the phone. It didn't let me in until about 2:05 CST. I purchased the 512GB AT&T Space Gray. I got the confirmation email at 2:07 and it said ships 2-3 weeks. I almost fell over. Updated to 1-2 weeks, Sept 28th to Oct 5th. I was still hanging onto hope I'd make it for launch day, as I too, am missing this on launch for the first time since the original. I'm a bit bummed.

My order just went Prepared for Shipment! I can’t believe it. I still think there was a glitch in the Matrix. I got right in ordered mine. Got the order made page and no email confirmation. I posted in the Apple carrier thread what an easy order it was. I went and looked back-that post was at 12:15. I had already long since ordered my phone and case (on aseperate transactions). I didn’t get a email confirmation until 12:23. I don’t what the heck happened, but at least I’ll be getting a phone before long. No shipping day yet.
 
Congrats! Nice to see movement. My wife and I are definitely hoping for movement today. iOS 12 has provided a nice distraction - really enjoying the faster feel. No charges yet on our end. (Ordered 6:00am PDT pre-order day - 512 Xs Max).
 
Many of the people in the Sept 28 to Oct 5 delivery window had their credit cards charged this morning. Things are starting to move, and you will likely have your phone next week.

FWIW I placed an order for an XS and XS Max on Wednesday (2 days ago) and they shipped yesterday even though the original estimate was for October.
 
I was in the 9/28-10/5 group until 2 days ago. Now has shipped, but sitting in China for over 24 hours waiting for clearance. I have a tentative date of 9/24. Mine is XS 64GB Gold Verizon.
