I wish a mint series 2 SS would sell for 550! They are selling around 350 on eBay

Well, do they come with a Milanese loop band? doubt it. most likely comes with a sport band. I should have mentioned it in my previous post when i said 550$. i'll have to check the prices on craigslist etc but a mint condition series 2 stainless steel with a milanese loop band should be around 500. Its an excellent watch and is not outdated by any means so i don't think why they would be selling for less than that.

Definitely staying put.
1. I'm not buying a watch with LTE. The battery tech is not there yet.
2. The non-LTE series 3 only brings talking Siri and faster chip. Thing is, I find the S2's performance to be more than sufficient.

I was hoping Apple would drop series 1, and dropping the price of series 2. But they didn't do that, keeping the not-so-waterproof series 1. Was hoping I can get a cheaper S2 for a backup watch.
I'm in the exact same boat as you

Would have upgraded to LTE except for:
Market dropped out into the 200-300 dollar range on SS Black sport band
My carrier wants an additional $10-15 dollars a month for LTE extension (same #) service.
Add in apple care+ and I fold

And the prices of the used stainless Series 2 will continue to drop once Series 3 becomes more widespread and in stores. So if somebody was wanting to sell now, now would be the time to do it.

I had money ready for an upgrade however am not going to. I didn't care about the LTE feature which if you do, I'd say go for it. But I don't. I never use my watch for calls anyway - just for getting messages really. And sure would be great to hear music and make calls, but I wouldn't use it for an extra £5 a month. I don't even think £5 a month is bad. But not if you won't use it.

I considered the non LTE version - but really, the barameter makes no diff for me, because I get stairs from the iphone. the new heart features I think are in software (could be wrong) but I get these features from the app Heart rate which I bought for £2.99 (works great! - I know when I'm sick, shows elevated heart rate).

I would have SERIOUSLY considered it...if there was sleep tracking. I would have upgraded in a heart beat from the series 2. but because nothing like that in this version, I don't care enough.

Does anyone know how the Series 3 will handle phone calls in the water? What if during the keynote, the woman on the other end of the line fell off the paddle board while the call was in the progress? Would the watch "lock" and end the call?

I'm quite happy with my Series 2 stainless with link bracelet. It's perfect. I bought the bracelet for my Series 0, then later on upgraded to the Series 2 when it came out, because I was desperate for better CPU performance. The Series 2 delivered, and has the added benefit of being immersible in water, and much brighter in the sun. With those improvements, I have no complaints at all about the 2. It does everything I need as fast as I need. OS 4 will kick things up another notch.

However if I was a frequent jogger I would probably upgrade for the freedom to leave my phone at home. As it stands, I would enjoy the convenience of that but only occasionally and not nearly enough to be worth the cost to upgrade or the monthly charge.

On the fence. I bought the Series 2 because I did not need series 3 cellular, but now I hear with the series 4 we will have to take it whether we want it or not and we can just not activate it. I'm more interested in the better display and thinner (maybe) case. I wont make up my mind until after the presentation. Pretty sure the series 3 is not worth upgrading for even with a discount. It's either buy a series 4 or just keep using the series2 till the series 5 comes out.
