Not working in Spanish for me. I only have the option to enable the keyboard in English.
I’ve even tried changing country , zone and language on iPhone but it didn’t change a thing.
We’ll see in a few days when there will be more testing.

Now with the first reviews online we have proof of what said. Keyboards in different languages! The German keyboard has all the German stuff! Ö,ä,ü etc.
From what I just saw you have to press and hold space to choose the keyboard language.
Unfortunately I was right, only English. You gave me hopes but… Not.

I can only speak for me and as you can see in the video I linked in my reply No.23 the keyboard is the German QWERTZ one with ä, ö and ü. I don’t know if the QWERTZ is the only one beside the Englisch QWERTY available in the S7. I never said the keyboard will definitely be available in your language. I just said it is in German and therefore I guessed it could be there for other languages as well.

Hopefully Apple adds your and other languages with a future update! I don’t know Spanish, French, etc. keyboard formattings but if they don’t need too many letters for the tiny screen, then how difficult can it be for Apple to add them?

If it's working in German I would expect it to work in Spanish as well 🤨

I am not debating the existence of the keyboard. The English keyboard can be QWERTY, AZERTY or QWERTZ.
The keyboard is there, I have the S7 myself and the QWERTY keyboard appears. And if you have an aim you can hit key to key and type a word in your language, but that's not the idea of that keyboard. The keyboard language is UK or US because it recognises the words you type with quick type or whatever the swipe system is called and intelligently types the word. That's what doesn't work in a language other than English, and makes it unusable.
Is that clear now?

I couldn't have said it better myself 😉. That is exactly what I meant in my previous posts !

And the problem, even if you want to patiently type a word without the swiping system, is that it detects that it is misspelled because it is not in English and tries to make the correction.
In other words, I can type "casa" (house in spanish) but it changes it to "case".

So, in short: The keyboard exists, but it is useless if you want to use another language. And that includes German, they don't get preferential treatment from Tim.

It makes perfect sense.
It also aligns with my initial thought of why they keyboard might only work in limited languages. Crazy that it only is useful in English, when Apple is selling as one of the few new big features of the Series 7. I would have thought, it at least, would work in the supported QuickPath languages (source):
  • English
  • German
  • Portuguese
  • Simplified Chinese
  • Italian
  • Spanish
  • French
