It Works Fine

On my iPad and my iPhone, and in Applemail on my iMac, Air and MBP BUT my preferred email client (Thunderbird) won't set it up at all, and as for Outlook.....Don't even go there.

So it kind of works for me. If I use my mobile devices (which is what it's for really) it works. Eventually the servers will be sorted out. And Tbird will release a patch. As posted above, these things have a habit of not working out of the box.

It did work sort of, but push was sporadic at best. This morning I woke to a message saying my Apple ID had been deactivated for security issues and it made me reset my password. I think it has been doing this to all of us who has passwords not in line with their newer 8-digit password structure. Once I reset the password to their new password structure, my ID worked along with icloud calendar, contact, apps, backup, etc...EXCEPT for mail, and it say my user and/or password is invalid on all my devices and computer, even though I updated everything with the new password. My only guess is that the password reset just hasn't migrated to the email servers yet. They better get this fixed quickly.

I have the same problem and it is very annoying!
It gives me an error like ur user name or password is not correct 🙁
Is therre something wrong or its something will sort otself out?

It works fine on my end, across all devices. And this is a migrated MobileMe account.

Asie from the 2-hour downtime the other day, iCloud has been flawless, at least for me.

Delete your MobileMe/iCloud account and then create it again on all devices (including Mac.)

I also had the problem "user name or password is not correct" today on an iPad 2 I was updating to iOS 5.

On Wed and Fri I had successfully updated / activated 2 iPads and 2 iPhones (1 new) with no problem (other than slow download times and slow activation time on AT&T).

The only thing I think was different today was that iCal and perhaps also Address book were already open on the Mac from which I was doing the update. When I ran the conversion from MobileMe to iCloud, it just didn't seem to occur the same way. For example, iCal the other times executed an update to the calendar program. Today it did not, perhaps because it was already running.

To fix all this, I logged out of iCloud on the iPad2 and on the Mac (iCloud under System Preferences). I ensured iCloud account was deleted from Mail, Address Book, and iCal. I then logged back into iCloud in System Preferences and checked to sync Mail, Address Book, and iCal.

The password problem then disappeared.

NOT working for me on my MBP through Mail.app. I tried sending myself two emails and never got it.

Though I can receive email just fine to my @me.com inbox, I just can't send email out.

Something wrong with the Outgoing Mail Server?

I have had intermittent email access since switching to iCloud from Mobile Me. Mobile me worked essentially flawlessly for me (as did .mac), but since the transition to iCloud I have had lots of issues - mostly Mail.app constantly asking for my password and not accepting it.

Im sure the teething issues will stop soon 🙂 I can deal with it for a few more days, but after that it's going to get a bit annoying.

It should work fine. It sets it up for you, and works out of the box..If you try Outlook or thunderbird, they are not working yet.

Delete the current @ me account from iCloud in system preferences.

Re- create it and open AppleMail, password is your iTunes one.

Should work fine.

I tried to setup my first @me account on Friday.
I gave up after multiple test emails failed.
And it seemed to crash the Apple Mail app.

My test emails from Friday arrived this morning =3+ days.

Mines been fine, I did swap over to icloud from mobileme though, didnt changed any of the settings.
