The point is though, no one pays that...at least not smart people(or maybe just bizness that don't care..ie the write it off come tax time)

I'd love to know how a business can write off a service bill.

..they get AC, which is what this person got...so your point is moot😀

It's not moot. It was suggested the OP get AppleCare and my point is if you know what you're doing, you may consider otherwise to save some money.

Easy, it's called a business expense. Business expenses decrease profit, which decrease your tax bill.😀

Ya, well the $400 quoted is for people who aren't smart enough to get a warranty like AC or something similar. The repair bill could say $2000 for hard disk repair, but if you have AC, it doesn't matter, you don't pay that🙂
