Got mine from o2 in the UK yesterday,

I can not get my camera to replicate the yellowing. Lights on, lights off, flash on, flash off.

Just took this under halogen, no flash, colors are spot on for a cell phone. Seems color temperature is playing a major role.

From a wiki:

Color temperature is a characteristic of visible light that has important applications in lighting, photography, videography, publishing, manufacturing, astrophysics, and other fields. The color temperature of a light source is the temperature of an ideal black-body radiator that radiates light of comparable hue to that light source. The temperature is conventionally stated in units of absolute temperature, kelvin (K). Color temperature is related to Planck's law and to Wien's displacement law.

Higher color temperatures (5,000*K or more) are called cool colors (blueish white); lower color temperatures (2,700–3,000*K) are called warm colors (yellowish white through red).[1]

I've got a replacement i4 now. The first one I had was crashing all the time, and wouln't wake from sleep. However, the camera on that first one had absolutely no problems. The whites were perfect. Now my replacement phone works fine, but the white balance is aweful. I made an appointment to take it back tonight. I guess if it's normal then I won't get a replacement, but I'm gonna ask the apple genuis anyway. Maybe they'll give me another one. I am not crazy about setting up a whole new phone all over again... it will be the third time in two weeks.

Not fixed on 4.1.

I was quite startled to see my first indoor CLF-lit iP4 shot turn out yellowish. Was on 4.0.2, then updated to 4.1 hoping to fix it but it didn't help. 3G and 3GS phone I have do not have this issue.

Mine is terrible indoors - so much so that I don't bother using it inside. Outside it's great, rivals my P&S cameras. I thought it was a software issue, but if some of you are getting better WB after replacing the phone, maybe it's not... Kinda sucks, I really don't want to give up a phone that has SHSHs for all software versions and still has the old baseband.
