Got up at 3:15 am, arrived at Best Buy at 3:30 am with about 200 people in front of me. Stood in line for 1.5 hrs. Got to listen to 2 preachers pushing the word of God to the crowd. :) Inside, purchased a Nook for $99 and a Blue Ray player for $59. Out of the store by 5:40 am. Best Buy handled this smartly. Store reps walked up and down the line handing out numbered tickets for their popular items on sale. In this way there was no pandemonium inside the store.

I bought a movie ticket for the film "Tangled". It was nice, but like with all other cgi animated films, I thought it was too short.

Well, I caved into mindless consumerism again. I needed a new scanner pretty quickly, and I saw Office Depot had a decent Canon on sale. I bought that, along with a new UPS for my entertainment center and a Logitech MX Anywhere mouse for half price.

Some weed and a few beers at the bar at work when I got off my shift. Oh, and a pizza. :D

black friday is for stupid sheep who like standing in 10 hour lines to save 2 bucks.

That reminds of the crazy long lines I see at the Costco gas station. It's like Black Friday every day there - bedlam for five cents off a gallon.

Stocked up on a few toys for tots. Just so happened to buy on Friday, didn't see much of a discount.

Just some stuff from the App Store. Mental Case (flashcard app), SketchBook Pro, Splashtop Remote Desktop, Secret of Monkey Island 1 + 2, ChuChu Rocket! HD and Reckless Racing HD, all for iPad.

Spent ~$13 in all. If that isn't a win, I don't know what is! :)

I bought a 40" Samsung 1080p, 120hz HDTV and Panasonic wireless Blu ray player for a phenomenal price directly from Panasonic (with free shipping, but taxes, still beat Amazon's price by about $35.00). I also picked up 6ft HDMI, all from the comfort of my recliner.

No Black Friday lines for for me, and I had to work anyway so that effectively ruled out any temptation to mingle with the unwashed masses:D

You have a woefully inept understanding of the concept.

For me, I got halo reach, fable 3, red dead redemption, god of war collection and super Mario galaxy 2 for $9 after $125 in amazon giftcards I've accrued this year.

Two round trip plane tickets to Washington D.C., two tickets to a conference on cyberwarfare in Washington D.C. and a hotel room for three nights
none of which were on sale, (but the plane tickets and hotel room were cheap because it is off season travel then)

update, I got one of the tickets to the conference for free since I'm a guest of the speaker (told him I was very interested in coming and it was my 18th birthday present, asked if there is a student rate, he gave me a ticket for free), also two nights at the hotel are free courtesy of Starwood points with us probably being upgraded to

I agree get up early and stand in a crowd? his is the first year I had money and I did not go out and buy. I got some 1/2 socks on the way to work but that's it. I would not have minded getting a cheap tv for my daughter but she went to walmart at 11 and gave up. people were sleeping in the isle. I rather spent a bit more and keep my dignity (what I have left of it)

I've been wanting to upgrade my old 2 gig Eye-Fi card for the last 6 months, so couldn't resist Apple's sale of $50 off per card. Best part is online ordering, so no line ups or 3:30 am wake up calls :D

We went out late morning and got a couple of small things - 1/2 price camera, $7 4GB SD cards, some other minor gifts. We were at my parent's house for Thanksgiving, so smaller towns have smaller crowds. I think we waited in line a total of about 5 minutes.

Bought an LG front load washer w/ steam clean function from Home Depot for $400 off the normal selling price. Free delivery and no interest for 18 months.

Bought the same thing for the same price at Best Buy as well! I was on my way over to Home Depot when I saw that BB was carrying the same thing for the same price. The pedestals were cheaper at BB, though.

Not one thing. Black Friday is BS. Buy after the holidays if you want real deals.

Not for nothing, Lee, and sorry to split hairs, but would BF be after the holiday?

BL.

I'm claustrophobic, so no BF BS for me.

To be frank, shopping during BF is more of a me too thing and it is VERY rare to get a genuine deal. BF is a main gateway for corporates to empty out old technology to make way for newer ones.
