Also 5th Ave in NYC has them now. Just picked one up. They had a handful on the shelves too as of 9:10 am ET. Sounds like they may have more in the back.
I first hit Grand Central and they were out, but a helpful rep looked at his handheld POS device and say 5th Ave and the Upper East Side (I believe he said) had them. I ran to and from the subway (a bit unnecessarily, but good to get the exercise). I suspect as the morning comes around and more stores process their inventory, we may see wider availability. But who knows...

So we saw yesterday that Staples.com had 11/18 listed for availability for the Pencil. This morning it says 11/25. So I guess they are out :/ Might still be worth checking a local store tomorrow.
As for the finds at the NYC Apple Stores, that is great! Unfortunately the two near me are in malls and do not open for another half hour. I will have to give them a call. (I'd love to drive over and just check but "near me" means 45 minutes away).

GREAT NEWS ALL AROUND! I'm planning to camp outside the Apple Store in downtown SF today when they open (2 hours from now PST).

Picked one up at the chelsea store in NYC. Another customer came in and asked if they had more as I was paying for mine. Strange to see first hand evidence of high demand out in the wild, hopefully supply is normalizing now.
Seems like a Manhattan thing. I'm in Texas but called a few random east coast stores thinking if they also got them maybe a lot of stores around the country did. No go on three other east coast stores I called.
Remember, everybody that isn't in the eastern time zone hasn't opened up yet. So hopefully it is the larger cities that do get it, like Chicago etc.
I actually live near the Brandon, FL store also and have been checking them and International Plaza. They also keep telling me they have never got any. Brandon said later they expect them later this week, International just constantly tells me to check online.
Checking online doesn't help. As of right now we know the 5th Avenue Apple Store has them but we can't check in store availability.
Yea, Thats just what they keep telling me, which is annoying since I know that will not work.
