My first computer was a PB 150 that i found lying on the side of the road in a box. i brought it home started it up, and almost threw it out cause it didn't run windows... so young, so naive. I spray painted the case matte black and then sprinkled silver paint on it to make a space look. then i rubbed off all of the letters on the keyboard and had an artistic friend paint all sorts of symbols on them :). I got made fun of at school when i used it but who cares. To quote Almost Famous "You'll meet them all on the long journey to the middle". It was that computer that made me check out Apples site in June when i was planning on buying a dell for school. One look at the new iBook and i was hooked. The day i got it i started to modify. Off came the cover for the screen and the white apple became a flaming apple. I put some band stickers on it (gotta do that in college :)), Painted the "num lock" and "caps lock" LED's red, and finally switched the arrow keys around so the up key points down, right points left, etc. It looks awesome. What Mods have you guys done to your machines?

Every Apple product I've owned

Apple IIe- so old, we gave it to a local museum! Actually, they didn't put it in a glass case. They use IIe's to make interactive programs to go with the exhibits.

PowerBook 145b- (half of the screen works at a time, based on the contrast. It really sucks now, and doesn't really work)

Performa 600CD- This is one slick computer, decked out with 8mb RAM, NuBus slots, a 33mhz 68030, CD tray cases!, and NO math co-processor. It made a nice (but big) doorbell when I was playing with it once (no monitor attached) and I froze it, so whenever I pressed one of the buttons on the front, it chimed :D

Performa 6400/180- A nice computer, really. I sold it to a friend. It was a nice computer, while I had it. Found it out of town for a discounted price.

PowerMac G4 400- bought it at CompUSA the day Apple downgraded their pro line. Convinced my parents that we would be saving $1000, since the price would go up. It's my family's main computer now. 70GB HD space, 256mb RAM, and runs OS X ok (not fantastic, or superbly, but ok).

iBook Blueberry- Aah, my first computer all to my self. Bought it for my mom because my school district is too stingy to buy her a laptop (they offered her an iMac, but since she works at different schools, she graciously declined. Trust me, you would too if you had to haul one of those monsters around.) They finally bought her a 500mhz PB G3. I then took the iBook to school for the first time. It was a real companion.

iBook 600, DVD combo- One Kick @$$ laptop! It is my favorite computer, hands down. Easialy fits in my backpack, and I can walk around school with it in my hands without being called fruity, or beat up because everyone knew that the old iBook was a computer, and they could easialy tell. I use it to do projects at school, and play games and surf the net.

If anyone is interested in my G4, with a 17" sony triniton monitor, SCSI card with scanner and zip drive, then e-mail me! I'll be willing to negotiate a price!

These are all the Apple products I currently own:
B&W G3 300mhz
iMac 333mhz
PM 7100/80AV
Mac IIc
Mac SE
PB150
PB160
Apple IIgs Woz edition

Nothing too spectacular, I get my kicks with volume :)

All i have that is cool is an eMate 300, the newton laptop. I showed it to my Mom who is a teacher and explained what it could do. Right away she saw what this device could do and wanted to know where her school could get them. I hate to break it to her that it was five years old and you could not get them anymore.

My collection - by Noremac

I have been very lucky as I have been given the majority of my collection.
My approach is to take what I have been given and try to max the ram up so that the machine is going as fast as it can.
I have little space to store these so most of them are just the box itself.
I have plenty of parts for old Apples too !

This is what i have:

Black 5500 - 128 megs of ram and a TV tuner card installed
6400 - great sound 128 megs of ram
Quadra 660 AV 68megs of ram, AV in and out
7300 - around 400 megs of ram
Apple IIGS - no hard drive !
iMac 233 - 256 megs of ram, 52 gig hard drive !
emac 700 - 512 megs of ram
3400 laptop - not sure how much ram
G3 Laptop - 192 megs of ram, battery still works
LC 475

I have a few rare systems, here are some of them which I can remember off the top of my head. I'll probably update this later. :p
  • eMate 300
  • Newton 2000
  • Newton 130
  • iMac 233 (original)
  • Lime Clamshell iBook - SE (466MHz/DVD/AirPort/FireWire) (Lime color on the SE models were only available as a BTO option)
  • Apple Set Top Box (Widely produced Prototype)
  • Apple Set Top Box (Very early prototype, with modified LC 475 board, very cool)
  • Apple IIGS with floppy drives & box!
  • Macintosh 512K (With bag, printer, keyboard, mouse)
  • Macintosh Classic
  • Macintosh SE
  • Macintosh Plus
  • Macintosh Color Classic (With 'Mystic Upgrade')

:D

Rare Mac Picasso Light for sale!

I have an original Mac Picasso etched glass promo light for sale that is in basically might condition.

-SE/30, works fine, 20mb ram
-Mac IIci, 32mb ram, 4gb hard drive
- g3 AIO 233mhz, 768mb ram

here is the collection of stuff have
2x Beige G3 AIO's (1 is in my sig that is my main machine) not going to sell either one)
1x performa 475 (highly upgraded) not going to sell
1x Orange Micro PC 660 (i dont know if you would see this as a apple collectors item) but it will fetch quite a bit on ebay) not going to sell
1x 7" apple dos compatability card cyrix 586 100mhz PCI card (not going to sell)
1x 12" apple dos compatability card intel pentium 166mhz (not going to sell)

i dont have much that many would call a collector item. but later down the road they might be worth something if i can keep these in working order and clean

the way the Beige G3 AIO is being scrapped by people cause of how much they weigh will make it a rare item eventualy.

Keep in mind I'm 14 and I get an allowance of 10 bucks a week!

My Collection:
Apple IIe (Monitor and Disk Drive)- in VERY good condition, got it for free from my old orchestra teacher.

iBook G4- My first Mac!!! I bought this and I did not know the first thing about computers especialy macs.

2nd Gen iPod Mini-Yup

Apple Pins (Apperal) Both made by Apple in 2003 one is a blue Apple logo and the other says Apple and has an Apple on it. I'll post picture later.

I want to get a Newton someday but I'm on a tight saving for iPhone budget.

If any body has any spare Apple IIe floppys I'd appreciate if you could donate them to me! :)

I have a TechStep in the attic if someone is looking for one.
I believe it comes with a bunch of the floppies, too.
