did you guys give a call or anything before finding them or just random stop in? If stopped in, were they on shelves?

Was looking for both the Pencil and Keyboard in Central NJ Apple store yesterday. Scored the keyboard, they only had two, which might become even harder to find since pencils are now showing up but at least my trip was not a waste.

At 10:20 there were none at Cambridgeside Galeria...

nothing in 4 of the 5 stores in atlanta (didnt check mall of ga). this seems to be harder to find than the pencil (at least in atlanta).

Atlanta's pencils arrived around 2pm yesterday at Lenox, at least that's when I called and when I got there a few minutes later they were still unpacking everything. I'd try again this afternoon. Please post if there's any update.

thanks for the timings. i'm pretty sure it was your post yesterday that prompted a quick visit to cumberland where i was able to pickup a pencil. lenox had keyboards yesterday the guy i talked with said, but they sold out almost instantly. i'll check back around 2pm. ive just been calling and asking to speak to MANAGER to avoid the call centers. seems to work even though they seem annoyed that i'm circumventing their official process. if they stop doing that, i'll switch to biz..

Oh cool. Well FWIW, I called Lenox yesterday, was told to come in as they had it the pencil in stock and would pull from the back upon my arrival. When I got there, I was told that the pencils that came in were still being unpacked and sorted as some of them were special orders and wouldn't be for sale, and that I'd need to hang out for about 20 mins to see what was left. So I went a little crazy and told him that I wasn't in a position to wait and that I didn't have the option on the website for store pick up. I asked a lot of questions (what's the mechanism that allows an order to be picked up when the website won't allow for it, etc.......). Finally some guy handed him one to sell to me with a get him out of here look on his face. Whatever works.

Let's just say it is slightly annoying to have pre-ordered a keyboard 7 days ago, within 1 hour of pre-orders opening ... and still have it just sitting in my order queue saying '1-2 weeks' ... while there are people all (who have a local Apple store) over getting 'walk-ups'. That is just bad customer service.

I couldn't get to a Seattle store this morning due to an early meeting at work.

If anyone has any experience with the seattle stores for smart keyboards, let us know!

Pencil plus keyboard - my time will come. Just hope I don't have to wait till
mid to late December for Apple to deliver. Getting very bored with calling
into various Apple stores and getting the usual stock responses. Never mind,
soon be Christmas!

There are a few at the Short Hills, NJ Store. Typing this on mine now! They only seem to have a few more. Not sure if there's more in the back.
