Let's just say it is slightly annoying to have pre-ordered a keyboard 7 days ago, within 1 hour of pre-orders opening ... and still have it just sitting in my order queue saying '1-2 weeks' ... while there are people all (who have a local Apple store) over getting 'walk-ups'. That is just bad customer service.

i hear you. i personally think it's ridiculous and i have 5 stores in my area. apple shouldnt be sending anything to the stores until they fulfill their pre-orders. it's not fair to the people that ordered them the minute they went on sale.

called lenox, cumberland and perimeter and no keyboards today..

I just chatted with an Apple Rep online and mentioned this fact to her she seemed very surprised the keyboards were selling in-store. Like she had no clue. Weird.

None of the employees know anything - some are still of the opinion that Smart Keyboards and Pencil can be ordered for in-store pickup. Other employees are saying they get them every few days. There is only one common variable, none of the Seattle stores have stock of the keyboard.

Compound all that with people pre ordering from several sources to see what ships first and this entire launch has been a complete cluster. I figured they hit rock bottom at the watch release. I was wrong. A company this big shouldn't have these issues.

The Apple empire begins to corrupt....poor communication system, preorder nightmare, not well trained employees...what can I say? I begin to miss Job Steve

I checked The Woodlands, TX Apple Store and they've had nothing but smart cases. I also checked all the T mobile stores since they started selling the pro today and were supposed to have accessories, and they all said none of the stores in this area got anything. They have been told that they are supposed to be stocking them.

I also tried it today for the first time and really liked it. I was considering doing the cover/skin/Bluetooth keyboard combo, but I loved how thin and light the keyboard cover is and typing wasn't too bad.

Kinda angry here as well. Pre-ordered my pen has shipped and has arrived but yet my keyboard is stuck in processing limbo.

Just check Apple Store at Cupertino at 1pm, 1 loop drive. Even headquarter got nothing in stock as predicted. I did try the keyboard and pencil in store, pencil is good but keyboard's quality is just not good enough.

Thanks for the recon.

I disagree with you though, the smart keyboard is really fantastic if you don't want to carry around the Logitech Crate (err...I mean Create).

I am using mine now! I got it at the Haywood Mall location in Greenville, SC. The rep who helped me had no idea... he looked int he accessories section and said, "Nope, we dont have any". Asked him to check the back and there it was.

This feeding frenzy, which I'm also a party to, is starting to feel tiresome.

I also find it bizarre that some Apple Store staff are now telling people that they should order online but cancel if they pop in and manage to find a keyboard in store.

The Lincoln Park store in Chicago had some earlier according to the employee on the phone. He mentioned it when I was trying to find a pencil.

Lovely, they told me no, never received either the Pencil nor the Smart Keyboard when I called at 3:00 yesterday...

Apparently some folks are today starting to see things switch to 'preparing to ship' who pre-ordered immediately at midnight PST ... I was about an hour later, so it will be interesting to see ...

I grabbed a Smart Cover yesterday because I found I wasn't carrying the Pro around with me.

So to clarify, stores are not getting daily stock of these? Even if its just a few units? That is just insane.

I have no doubt the lack of these accessories at launch is having negative impact on overall iPad Pro first impressions. Unfortunate.

I plan on returning the cover for the keyboard.
