Does anyone know if you can move a purchased book between two ipads, two nooks, or two kindles? I don't plan on purchasing my own copy of a book my wife has. We don't do that with regular books, see no reason why we should do it electronically. (Compared to reading old fashioned books, it's much harder to swap off a single iPad if both people are actively reading different books.) Thanks!

My wife has access to my books via me setting up my iBooks (iTunes store account) on her iPad. I also give access to my Kindle account so that she can see and download from my library as well as purchase from my accounts. I guess the easiest way would be to have your account as the master and then do all purchases through this then input your username and password into her iPad.

This is a big problem with DRM'd books. I totally agree your point about how you would easily share paperbacks, so why not eBooks. I feel we're being cheated here. This is why I don't hesitate stripping of the DRMs and sharing my books, just like I would with a physical book. I do see publishers' points though, but their solution is just too one-sided. Anyways, do what the guy above me said; only use one account to buy your books.

You can have your books authorized on up to 5 devices I believe.

But you have to allow your wife (or she you) access to your account. you could still have 2 separate accounts with a different library but you'll need to sign in and out of each account to make that work.

With my wife I just set up her iPad Kindle app to link with my Amazon account so we share our Kindle books over all of our household devices that support the Kindle app.

I see the publisher's position that in this case it is just like software and file sharing. But my wife has a circle of friends and they share books among 5 people so I see no problem here as long as you don't go crazy.

    Thanks for the info! :)
