For a watch that can and will get wet a lot, I wouldn’t think watchdots would hold up well.
They will hold up just fine as long as you leave them alone and don't pick at them.

But then it'll look like just a series 2 or even a series 0...
Anyone think this is odd ? How do you use your thumb with the crown in?! Do you do a reach around ?! Your thumb would be on the other side unless you go from the top.
Well the look of the watch hasn't changed. the non-cellular version without the red dot looks just like the series 0-2. I don't think Apple added the red dot to distinguish it from the older models, isn't it to signify cellular service? and what I am saying is that there is no need to signify that on the stainless steel version since it's the only option.
I don't have an issue with the red dot if the watch has a black, red or white band on it, but if you put on some bands it will look ridiculous
Have a look here and try some different coloured bands (it's surely no coincidence that some of the bands show the watch without a dot for the product photo!)
For those of you that have wives, girlfriends, etc., haven't you noticed that after a week or so, their nail polish is already cracking, peeling, and looking like crap?I'd recommend buying a bottle of nail polish and putting a dot of it on the watch dot. Should last a lot longer than a sharpie marker coloring.

It seems like Sharpie ink would more permanent/durable. Sharpie ink survives numerous washing/laundering when written on cloth material.
Yeah, but scrolling with your thumb and then using your index finger to tap on the screen is more involved (and somewhat obscures the screen) than just scrolling with your index finger and tapping with the same.I don't understand. My right thumb matches up perfectly with the crown on the inside of my left wrist.

I've convinced a couple other Apple Watch folks to turn theirs around after seeing mine.
You're just stuck in the past, wedded to tradition! Embrace change! Go crown in!Yeah, but scrolling with your thumb and then using your index finger to tap on the screen is more involved (and somewhat obscures the screen) than just scrolling with your index finger and tapping with the same.
... I just find crown in more natural, especially when I'm running. I find the double-button press--to pause the exercise app--a bit easier too.

That would be terrible.Until Apple decide to remove the crown like they have the home button on the X![]()
Totally untrue! I have had the blue color on my alum 38 for well over 6 months now, it gets wet every day.For a watch that can and will get wet a lot, I wouldn’t think watchdots would hold up well.
Specifically, it's about using a Sharpie on the red crown.Oh look, another thread about the red dot.
In all fairness some of these striped bands look ridiculous even with the red dot!![]()

What I really want is another button, or ...
