What about, first with then against? That's what I do when I can be bothered to shave.

Shave one direction only, with the grain, use warm water, some shaving oil and good quality shaving lotion. Use a sharp razor and when finished shaving rinse thoroughly with warm water, then cold..

Apply a very small amount of a lightly scented cologne.

Shave after a shower in the morning but before you eat breakfast as the activity draws blood to your face and you run the risk of a cut.

I use a Shick Quattro - for some reason a 3 blade and a 2 blade razor gives me shaving rash but a 4 blade won't. Neither does a cut-throat razor like the barber uses.

Always shave with the grain, if you go against you push tiny particles of dirt into the pores which causes pimples/ingrowns.

I do the same when I have time. I shave with, then I re-lather and go against. If I'm pressed for time, then I just go with. Go the tip to shave twice from Playboy.com. :D

Me too...

First the hair-cutter to take it down to "shaveable" length, then using the razor with the grain and a few strokes against... only way to get it smooth (in a reasonable amount of time). :)

people just will never learn. It always with the grain other wis you risk getting in grown hairs and other things. Plus it not good for the skin if you go agaist the grain. You really dont get any closer of a shave just do 2 passes with a sharp blade and you are good.

Speaking of which I really need to shave. Havent done it the past 2 days and it really getting itchy

Against for most of my face. However my chin and upper lip I almost have to shave with or else I get cut up badly. However, every once in a while, when skin and hair conditions are just right, I can shave against the grain on my whole face. Those are the good days.
