Here's an interesting twist to the story:

The Malaysian guy seemed pretty nice and probably wasn't a scammer. When I resold it domestic-only my iPhone 3GS was bought by someone in the US. I was going to ship my iPhone 3GS tomorrow, but eBay sent me a notice stating that they cancelled the transaction because the US buyer was known to be a scammer. By this time today I could have lost my iPhone 3GS and my money. The money for it is in my PayPal account, but I'm going to have to refund that, hopefully I can because I really don't want to keep money from a scammer.

The third time I try to sell this, I'm going to put that I'll only send to a PayPal-confirmed address. I think that's all I need to avoid scammers...

The guy in the US that eBay told me not to ship to because he's a scammer bought my iPhone 3GS again with a different account. This is getting really annoying. I'm going to report the buyer to eBay tomorrow.

USPS offers global express courier doesnt it? Your item can be properly insured dont know about delivery confirmation I assume there would be if it is insured how then can you make a claim if they cannot confirm delivery?
