Pre-order supplies of the iPhone 6 in the United States have dwindled significantly since pre-orders kicked off last night, with most models of the device now displaying shipping estimates of 7 to 10 days. The new shipping estimates mean customers who place an order now will likely be receiving their phones in October rather than September.

While there are still a some AT&T and Verizon iPhone 6 models available in space gray and gold, silver models for most carriers have now sold out. T-Mobile continues to have some availability in gold, with space gray models carrying shipping estimates of 7 to 10 days.

Though it has taken nearly a day for Apple to run out of most iPhone 6 models available to ship on 9/19, supplies of the larger iPhone 6 Plus were much more limited. Apple's online store was down until just before 3 AM PT, at which point almost all iPhone 6 Plus models were showing shipping estimates of 7 to 10 days before slipping to 3 to 4 weeks just hours later.

Supplies are similarly limited in other countries where pre-orders were accepted, with the U.K. and Germany seeing iPhone 6 shipping estimates ranging from 7 to 10 days or 3 to 4 weeks based on model. New orders of the iPhone 6 Plus in those countries have shipping estimates of 3 to 4 weeks for all models.

According to Apple, response to the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus was "incredible," with the company setting a new record for overnight pre-orders despite pre-order hiccups.

Though customers will no longer be able to pre-order most models of the iPhone 6 or a 6 Plus from Apple's site for delivery on 9/19, Apple will have launch day supplies at its retail stores on that date. Oftentimes, people wait in line for hours in an attempt to get a device from a retail store.

Supply of the iPhone 6 Plus seems to be similar to supply of the gold iPhone 5s last year, which became almost instantly unavailable. Unlike last year, however, there were few reports available on supply quantities.

Such a relief to know they have store allocated supply for launch day! i can't wait! :apple:

I'm surprised it has taken as long as it has.

I think Apple really ramped it up this year thinking there would be enough, and there still weren't.

And I think they really underestimated the demand of the 6+, from a poll I saw, it seems to be about 50/50 on 6 vs 6+...I'm betting Apple figured it wouldn't be anywhere near that even.

I'm bummed I chose AT&T, got my orders in right away and have a shipping estimate 14-21 days on space gray 64GB Plus and 21-28 days on gold 64GB Plus.

Still laughing at all those people saying the 5.5" would never sell and who wants a phablet, blah blah blah. Well, look for yourselves...

Loved my gold. Now that I have space a space grey 5s my 6+ will be space grey. Looks like I'll have fun finding one again.
I work in the industry and I think the 6 and 6+ will yet again be the best selling phone.

still over here just chillin' with my 5S which surprisingly is almost identical under the hood to the 6...hmmm...

Was really hoping for a launch day 6+ 128GB, but since 7-10 days seems to be the best possible scenario, its hard for me to complain.

iPhone 6 Plus is very nice, but I can't wait for the iPhone 7 Plus.
And no, I won't settle for the iPhone 6 S-Plus that will come out next year.

I've ordered a 6 when it said "delivers 9/19" I got an "action required" notice however saying that my card couldn't be authorized. It's because I had previously ordered a 64gb but then cancelled it, but apple hadn't refunded the money. I immediately put in an order for 16gb, thinking apple would just use that money. It still says "delivers 9/19" I just have to wait until the money is refunded. Anyone know if I'll get the phone on 9/19 still?

I got a jump and was able to pre order two iPhone +'s 20 mins before the official 3am EST pre order on att. Still got 14-21 days. Must really be limited on the plus models. Says shipping 10/2-10/13

Based on past history when will supplies stabilize enough to enable customers to just walk into a store and purchase a configuration of their choice? January?

AT&T site's date was slipped to 1~4 weeks depending on models. I guess it's because AT&T next can't be ordered on apple.com.

ATT sold out of space grey first and Apple has sold them last.

I don't think they underestimated the 6 plus. There just wasn't enough stock because of production. Leaks pointing to the 6 plus coming out later. Both on launch day but one with limited supply.

I do think that this is more about constrained supply than demand.

But I did buy one.

had to delete it b/c people didn't get the joke i was trying to make about the 6 being the new 5C
if you feel the need to quote this revised post, go ahead.

iPhone 6 Plus order

I got mine though the AT&T store they said it would take about 7-14 business days which isn't that bad

lol my girlfriend went on her lunch break to the Apple Store in our local mall to get the iPhone 6, white/silver, 64GB. no issues at all. the 6 Plus was completely OOS in every config

at least at my store, they seemed to have plenty of iPhone 6's

Huh ? How so ? Apple stores don't sell them till the 19th.

Carrier store may be worse

Just another reference point: I went into a flagship AT&T store this afternoon around 2 and the agent there told me that store was back ordered on everything for about 45 days. The only thing you could preorder was the 6 in 128gb.

If they are Android converts, all the better. I won't buy a 5.5" phone but if someone wants to contribute to my next dividend check, so be it.
