I *just* pre-ordered my 64GB Silver iPhone 6 from my local T-Mobile store and they're still getting ship dates of 9/18. I paid for next day air, so I'm stoked to be getting mine on launch day. :D

Still laughing at all those people saying the 5.5" would never sell and who wants a phablet, blah blah blah. Well, look for yourselves...

A friend of mine said she was reading blogs and that people were saying the 5.5 will never sell. I said whomever is saying that is crazy. All I've been hearing are people wanting larger phones. I mean, isn't that one of the reasons you hear about people buying Android? The larger phone sizes. I've been listening to a lot of tech podcasts, and reading those in the know, and all I'm hearing is 5.5, and not the 4.7. I had a good feeling the 5.5 would be accepted this well.

6p 32Gig Space Gray shows 9/19 delivery

AT&T site's date was slipped to 1~4 weeks depending on models. I guess it's because AT&T next can't be ordered on apple.com.

I stuck it out on the App Store iPhone app and got the 6p 32Gig Space Gray and it still shows 9/19 delivery.. All about preparing. I was in bed with my iPhone 5 patiently waiting for App Store to come up.. WFH on Friday!!:rolleyes:

Ordered a space grey 64g 6 at about 2:10 CST .
Initially got an email saying it would ship on or around sept 19-- I pre-ordered on AT&T because apple wouldn't load for me in app form or via the web

Got the confirmation email around 5:00am
And waited for more info to be filled in.

Flash forward to 6:00pm today and now it says my phone won't ship till oct 12-31!!

The kicker is that as of 10:08 CST I could order the same phone from apple with sept 19 delivery!
I really want to cancel my order, but they told me on the phone that my upgrade eligibility wouldn't restore for 24-48 hours- and who knows what the apple availability would be then..
Bummer.. Not sure what to do.. Thinking I may go to a b and m store and see if anyone can help me out..

Still think I'll wait till closer to xmas to see if there are any issues.

Am looking forward to trying out the 5.5. Am thinking it may be a little too big for my needs but need to try it out before deciding.

4.7

After watching a few videos of pocket tests for the 5.5" and 4.7", I've ultimately decided to go with the 4.7". I would certainly prefer the larger screen, but I don't want the disadvantage of more limited mobility. There's not only the question of comfortably fitting it in your pocket (I'm a shorter, thinner guy), but also of using an armband while running or biking. Add to that the delay in obtaining the phone, and the extra $100 cost, and it just doesn't seem to make a lot of sense for me. I figure the 4.7 will make for a smoother transition, and I can always upgrade to the 6s+ next year. Just some thoughts for you guys debating the size choices.

considering the fact that they don't even reserve one for you when you put it in the shopping basket, I doubt you'll get yours on September 19.

I assume that a wait for payment is higher on apples list than a put on basket action. But I'm afraid you're probably right with your assumption. Monday can't come soon enough!
The unfortunate thing is that I'll be off on vacation on the 3rd of October so if it doesn't come until then I won't be able to play with it until end of October! Noooooo!
I know I know first world problems! :D

had to delete it b/c people didn't get the joke

You have to use a smiley face or a wink or something, otherwise people will have to take it seriously. After all there is no clue that it was a joke and so it will be considered a big fat lie, which technically it is.:)

I ordered the 6+ silver first, since the gold wasn't available. Yet it had the arrival to be 10-1. So, I retried to see if the status changed on the gold one. Cancelled the silver one (128gb). Got to order the 6+, 128gb to arrive 10-1. Not bad. Hopefully, it will come sooner like 9-23 or so.

Will buy from AT&T

AT&T put out a press release today (12/09) that the iPhone 6 (+) will be sold in stores on a "first come first serve" basis. I don't see what all the hype is about. So many retail stores will be selling the phone. Play your cards right, you'll get one. I do not suggest pre-ordering online anymore as you almost certainly will not get your phone on launch day.

Not sure we can imply much from this. Based on amount of leaks for that model, it's likely supply is much much lower than for the smaller one. If supply was small enough, the initial batches could have been burned through even without strong demand. Not saying that's what's happened, just it's hard to know.

first payment

So, if i preorder the iPhone, and the wait time is a month, when is the subsidized price due? when you place the order or when your phone comes?

There are going to be a LOT of returns. Most people who are buying this (non tech geeks) are going to assume the iphone "plus" is only marginally bigger then their current iphones.

People are buying it cause its the "plus". They want the most expensive phone to show off.

This thing is huge. The bezel is awful. How in the world anyone with small hands (mostly females) is going to use this thing beats me. Unless you are lebron james, you ain't using this one handed.

Not to mention this is not pocket able at all.

Apple could have hit this thing out of the park with adding oIS in the smaller version + sapphire screen. AND also releasing a smaller version (5s size). My girlfriend now is contemplating on buying a 5s since the 6 is way, way too big for her.

So the LG G3 is pretty much better than iphone 6 plus in every single way possible: Screen, microSD, camera, wireless charging, bezels, comfortable for one handed use.

Yet its priced at $480. Almost half of an iphone 6 plus.

There is no 6 plus 32 gig phone. Actually there is no 6 32 gig phone.

Ahem,

Why are you in the bed with your iphone 5?;)

Agreed. I always manage to snag a phone from a store, although I usually just take the common black model. Shipping an iPhone to your house is a hassle, because someone has to physically be there to sign for it. Planning on taking the 19th off work? If not, UPS/FedEx will happily try again on the 22nd. Then you'll likely have to go pick it up from their distribution center anyway.

The 6+ is virtually the same size as a standard checkbook. A bit silly to hold up to the face, maybe, but easily held in one hand and pocketed. It's not my personal choice, but it's hardly as dramatic as you make it sound.

The 6 is not appreciably larger than the 5s. If someone can't hold the former, the latter won't be much better.

You can cancel your order and your upgrade will reflect on your account in minutes. AT&T tells you 24-48 hrs to cover themselves.

Loved my gold. Now that I have space a space grey 5s my 6+ will be space grey. Looks like I'll have fun finding one again.
I work in the industry and I think the 6 and 6+ will yet again be the best selling phone.

You mean other than a different processor, better camera, NFC capability and higher capacity battery? ;)
