i just went on packagetrackr and...

for my brother it says he is in transit from alaska (although yahoo says his phone is being held right now)

and for me, it says im in transit directly to my destination (bay area)-- is that even possible?

Same, i'm 95% sure its accurate though.

Anyone else seeing two tracking options when you click the tracking number from the Apple page and get sent to FedEx page? One has it sitting in HK and the other has it sitting in China. The Lantau Island one was originally where it was yesterday.

I got the same thing just now. royally

According to PackageTrackr, mine is going STRAIGHT from China??

Straight from China to where? AK? That's what yesterday's shipment did (no Launtau, at least not according to Fedex tracking history).

If it's straight from mainland China to your doorstep, I'd be skeptical. :p

yeh now that i think about it (from my earlier post), im sure it means its eventually going to your house, but the website has no idea where it'll stop on the way

I have just experienced the stupidest idea in shipping EVER. I live in Anchorage, Alaska. My iPhone was shipped here, cleared customs, and arrived at the FedEx site yesterday at 2:30pm. So, I logically figure it will be put on the truck this morning for delivery.

I check the FedEx tracking site this morning, and my iPhone has been sent to Memphis! It still shows the final destination as being Anchorage, but I talked to a representative at FedEx to ask "what the heck!?" and he says that the extra "tour" is because Apple wants it delivered on the 9th. I asked him why they just didn't hold it at the Anchorage facility (thus cutting the chance it will get lost during the round trip to Memphis), and he just keeps babbling that Apple wants it delivered on the 9th, even if they have to fly it around the planet to make sure it doesn't accidentally get put on the truck a day early.

Really, Apple and/or FedEx? It's so important that I get my phone on the 9th and not a day earlier that you are willing to take the chance it will get lost on two extra plane trips?

I know it sucks for you not to get your phone when you could/should have, but this is pretty funny. :p

It's out for delivery at 8:19 AM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Delivered:D!!!!!

But I'm at work:mad:, so I have to wait another 7 hours or so until I can sync it with iTunes and start using it.

Note: It was delivered one day early - so for our friend in Anchorage, Fedex is feeding you a line of ************.

Order Date: June 22, 2010
Ship Date: July 6, 2010
FedEx Estimate Delivery Date: July 13, 2010
Apple Estimate Delivery Date: July 12, 2010

Jul 8, 2010 8:41 AM On FedEx vehicle for delivery CORVALLIS, OR

I must say, I'm pretty impressed with FedEx's speedy delivery, beating their old usual 3-4 delivery time from Shenzhen to here, and 4 days before Apple's estimate.

Now, to wait patiently for the truck to get here... I live on a major street, apparently near the FedEx depot here, so I've seen around 6 trucks pass by already this morning. Hopefully, I get the 9am route, so I can go to work at a normal time lol

Yes, I was cheap and only did standard shipping. 2-day for free is nice :)

One thing that was different with FedEx this time around (unlike my previous Shenzhen packages from Apple) is that instead of Anchorage -> Memphis -> Portland, they did Anchorage -> Oakland, CA -> Portland. I guess that's why it was only 2 days in transit. I guess I just got really lucky?

Yeah, if it wasn't happening to me, I would find it hysterical, I have to admit. In fact, I kind of find it funny, anyway. Fortunately, my current phone is working fine, so another day delay isn't going to kill me or anything (especially since I originally wasn't expecting it for another week or so).

Oh yeah, I knew he was feeding me a line, especially after he told me he "didn't know where it was," when I was looking at a screen that told me it was in Memphis. I'm sure this is FedEx's screw up, not Apple's.

Indeed you did. I ordered the same date as you. It shipped the same date as you. Same city. Mine won't be delivered until the 12th though.

How you got it shipped and delivered in 2 days is beyond me.

yes, i am. makes it hard to track unless you click on the right now. my current iphone won't let me choose one so i can't check it unless i'm at my computer.

WOW - Pretty crazy on Fedex's part. Wondering if CEO of Fedex would like to hear this adventure :D

Same with me - I'm in Portland and it's on the truck out for delivery even though my status still says delivery is tomorrow before 10:30AM. Thank you Oakland :)

I have the same problem. I called FedEx and they said the folks in China printed another label with a new shipping date because the shipment was picked up after cutoff. It's the same tracking number, though. So that's why there are duplicates.
