Mine is basically the same...

I don't see any Fedex flights from HK to Anchorage, but there IS one enroute from HK to Memphis:

http://flightaware.com/live/fleet/FDX (last one on the page)

maybe that one is carrying these...

Mine has been stuck on PFS since Saturday, but my card hasn't been charged yet. No rhyme or reason to their process, it seems.

received mine today, a week 28 manufacture, i can not replicate the antenna attenuation, i tried it at a few spots around town and it did not go down, no rattling, no green blob that I can tell yet, no screen discoloration, sim tray so secure it was actually difficult to remove the first couple of times.. the proximity sensor seems to be working great, when it is in a call and is about 2-3 inches away from my face the screen goes off, and won't turn back on again until it is again back in that 2-3 inch range...

a couple side notes: if you did an upgrade swap normall you call then plug into itunes, don't do it with this model, plug into itunes activate for the other # then call afterwards, otherwise you will not be able to activate the phone and will have to go get a new sim because it will register it as already activated and the phone will not unbrick..

also when I went to put my screen protector on I almost crapped my pants cause I thought i cracked it while trying to push out air bubbles.. ithought man, tha really IS weak.. i was about to call when i thought I would peel it up and realized it was an actually an eyelash had fallen behind it when i put it on, lol, just thought that was funny..

My iPhone is in Hong Kong right now. Sooooo farrrrr! :(

Mine has been in Newark since 2 am this morning. Sooo Clooose!

I hope it is in a safe place, there are some "interesting" neighborhoods in Newark :D I hope it doesn't fall in with the wrong crowd:eek:

anyway, i'll let you know on the proximity sensor when i test it in a mirror, but otherwise so far so good :D

what's this about the activation..... we have to call to activate it? i thought that we just plug it in and sync it and it automatically is ready for our existing phone number?! am i understanding that wrong?

i was referring to if you are performing an upgrade swap, under normal circumstances you don't have to call in

^ was about to ask the same thing. I never heard that we needed to call in order to activate.

Just plug into iTunes and your good to go.

I've had mine for 2 days now. I have the reception problems and the proximity sensor problem.
I can hold it in my hand (loosely) and watch the signal go down. When on the phone the screen becomes active again. This has happened on almost all of my calls. Earlier today I watched the screen in the mirror when on a call. The screen would flicker on/off, sometimes staying on for 5 or 10 seconds.
I set this phone us as a new phone, not from a backup.

what is the proximity sensor problem. i haven't heard anything about that and i honestly don't know what that means. is that when you are on a call and it goes black to save battery? does that not work properly?

I check the FedEx tracking site this morning, and my iPhone has been sent to Memphis! It still shows the final destination as being Anchorage, but I talked to a representative at FedEx to ask "what the heck!?" and he says that the extra "tour" is because Apple wants it delivered on the 9th. I asked him why they just didn't hold it at the Anchorage facility (thus cutting the chance it will get lost during the round trip to Memphis), and he just keeps babbling that Apple wants it delivered on the 9th, even if they have to fly it around the planet to make sure it doesn't accidentally get put on the truck a day early.

More likely scenario: Your phone is one of many thousands in this shipment, probably in a large shipping container. FedEx will break down the container in Memphis (their hub) and route the individual shipments to their destinations.

I really doubt the story the FedEx rep told you.

What is this?

Now I see this:

Jul 8, 2010 11:49 AM Int'l shipment release ANCHORAGE, AK

What the heck does this mean? Is it now shipping from Alaska?
