Can you really explain why people would need those? Damn, it would be fine if they just removed the whole damn scrollbar. Who uses it anyways? Using gestures to scroll is way more intuitive and easier.

Yes. I use a mouse at a desk, and don't use a touchpad. The amount of "scroll" for each click the middle wheel scrolls is different depending on the scroll size - even in safari(!) - and having fine grained control was nice.

Doesn't mean they had to get rid of Rosetta.

Rosetta is based upon third party software that Apple licensed when it made the transition from the PowerPC CPU platform to the Intel platform. It almost miraculously allowed all of us to continue using almost 100% of our software library on our new Intel Macs without having to even think about the transition. Hence it saved us hundreds, if not thousands of dollars, each!

Apple's license expired with the release of OS X Lion (and thereafter) and by that time IBM had acquired the third party company that developed and owned the intellectual property underlying Rosetta. Even if Apple had the desire to attempt to renegotiate for a new license, it is doubtful that IBM would have offered it for the reasonable price required for its continued use.
