if They had launched with this available it might have done slightly better. But it’s too little too late. This service is DOA.

I strongly disagree. This is old suits trying to guess what the young kids want. And they don't want this- heck it's clear now that no one ever did. In a world were there is free content on YouTube, snapchat, and tiktok... why would one ever pay for something like this?

Just waiting for it to die and get swallowed up by one of the other services so I can watch the one or two shows I’m curious about.
as of now, that's not happening. They've been trying to sell off their catalog to other companies and nobody wants it.

Everyone is so busy they don't have time to sit down to a half hour to a hour for a TV show. Or even pick up a book that you can read for minutes or hours.

Quibi's next announcement will be to combine between two and four ~10 minute episodes and release it as a single, continuous ~20 to ~40 minute video.

Seriously though is this company not aware of pausing?

The Wireless tvshow is pretty neat. When your phone is in landscape mode you see the character 3rd person but if you switch to portrait mode you see his phone screen and how he's interacting with it.

Wonder how much more successful Quibi might have been if launched outside a pandemic.

I don't think it would have helped much. Katzenberg has blamed the pandemic though which is convenient for him.
People are capable of breaking down episodes themselves based on their lives.
These guys really looked at how people consume media / use their smartphones and assumed people would pay for this.
Also they put a laughable amount of effort into preventing piracy which made it much more difficult for whatever was good about the content to be promoted organically through social media.

I had the Quibi free trial and actually really liked several of the shows. But I survived Meg Whitman’s massive cuts at HP and HPE and refuse to support anything that profits her.

It’s pretty impressive they were able to get that much to invest and get as much talent and hype, even if it were short lived. The concept is interesting but the world isn’t ready. People of today rather be dumbed down by tik tok shorts instead.
yea look at this thread alone, those people dont even know how good Quibi's shows are , I bet they havnt even bothered to try lol
