Sounds like a great recipe for privacy disaster - I’d rather have Clippy back.“Sky knows what apps you have open, what you're doing, and what actions are possible based on that information.”
I’m using Apple hardware because I want privacy. The very last thing I’d be willing to install on my devices is something that knows what apps I have open and what I am doing.
I’m so tired of sticking AI everywhere. I’m afraid to open my fridge at this point.
But it's only being left behind if you're actually missing out on something that would definitely have been useful to you had you given it a chance. For example, are people who prefer sitting down and reading physical books being left behind by the proliferation of audio books? It’s the same as with every new technology. Some people will be left behind praising the old. Although I could have agreed to criticizing the 3rd party installation.
People do seem to think that Apple are above data mining and collection for some reason (well, the reason is known, it's fantastic marketing). While Apple are guided by the current leadership there's no coming back from the stupidity and hubris that is their current AI offering. If this was a part of Apple Intelligence, I think people would be a lot happier.
Can't wait for the inevitable Sky network.
Yeah, I'm not sure they thought through the name very thoroughlyCan't wait for the inevitable Sky network.
I saw the movie, and everything turns out OK. I think.A Skynet funding bill is passed in the United States Congress, and the system goes online on August 4, 2025, removing human decisions from strategic defense. Skynet begins to learn rapidly and eventually becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m., EDT, on August 29, 2025.
It is. I mean, it's always something. But I'd want an artificial assistant I can trust completely.I want one. I want an artificial assistant, that I can trust, a little. Of course, the maker of the assistant could be a crook.
It's always something.
Yeah…it’s not like we’re in that timeline anyway? Right….right ???I saw the movie, and everything turns out OK. I think.
Yesterday I read AI agents can “bleed” private data such as this into their training models 🫠An AI that monitors everything on my screen, and can send it to a cloud service? Passwords? medical content? Financial records?
The creators of Shortcuts, an app that was acquired by Apple and deeply integrated …
Sky will be acquired by Apple and renamed “Skiri” …… you're able to tell Sky to send a link and a summary to [person]. …
I don’t understand everything that’s happening on my Mac’s screen. So, pretty sure I’m not gonna just let an AI run rampant through everything.an AI Helper That Understands Everything on Your Mac's Screen
This is what Shortcuts should be. “I want this to do this” etc. However, I cannot see how someone not technically minded can figure out how to use Shortcuts and make it work I’m no Luddite, but I gave up on Shortcuts as whatever I made didn’t work, didn’t work the way I want it to, or don’t know what Shortcuts would be useful for meVery nice - this could be like Apple Intelligence pro.
I like the idea what it can write AppleScripts for you - if I could just say to it "there's no easy way for me to automate this function, can you add an AppleScript for it" and it came up with one and activated it without even copy and pasting that would be great.
As they're the makers of Shortcuts deep integration with Shortcuts would be great - have it be able to create them for us.
Yep, came here to say this. Start the countdown clock on “From time to time, Apple buys smaller technology companies…”Well…standby. Apple already bought one of this guy’s apps. I wouldn’t be surprised they don’t buy Sky also and include it in Apple “Intelligence”. At this point I would like Sky on my devices to see Siri and then find her supposed intelligence somewhere and send it to me.
We don’t even need to communicate with each other anymore. Our AI Agents can do it all for us! Great world we live in, saves so much time. In reality, I see and am working on how these can be great for customer service but like most I don’t want it running on my Mac and don’t trust anyone, especially Apple, with my privacy. To me the privacy crap Apple has marketed is just marketing. They have had just as bad of reputation outsourcing data as other big tech companies. But wait, there is more!
Your friends can then use their own AI to get messages from your AI program and translate this into messages to your friends!
Which remains a superior name for such a system. It was originally called Workflow but was called Shortcuts after Apple acquired/purchased it and was featured during the 2018 event, can't remember whether it was in WWDC or iPhone event.
