I bet if he fights this on the basis of "reasonable expectation" he'd win.

He was buying an Apple Product from an AUthorized Apple Dealer, he was given verbal information that infered to a reasonable person that their policy [14 day] was the same as Apples, there was no information verbal or otherwise that disputed this until AFTER the sale

First off...I'm not an attorney. But I do believe there are indeed reasonable expectations on return policies, unless otherwise stated clearly. Which is the reason I prevailed with my little clothing store issue...btw, it was a lot of money for some expensive clothes so I didn't take lightly that I would be stuck with them. Probably why some electronics stores have big orange stickers right on the box when the return policy is different than typical policy.

And another thing...just because they state something on a sign or receipt doesn't make it legal or enforceable. Car lots, valets, etc are infamous for stating things that aren't true. If it scares on person away, they've won.

I would absolutely check with a local chamber or similar to find out what the disclosure requirement is for the area that you live in. There may be some legs to this with a little research.

When I bought my MBP I shopped for return policy, not service ;) London Drugs and Future Shop offer a no-hassle, satisfaction return policy for 15 days. In my case I did this because I don't like apple's restrictions on returning laptops with bad pixels. Since I generally don't like Future Shop, I used London Drugs and they seem to have fresh stock - happened to get one manufactured only a couple of weeks earlier.

Cheers!
