Wondering if it's worth it or if it will slow my phone way down? I plan on ordering the iPhone X on October 27th assuming I'm actually able to get my order in so one way or another I'll eventually get iOS 11. Anyone run the GM on an iPhone 6 plus? How's the performance?

I have 6 plus but i was windering about that. However, ip6 plus has been staying strong after all these years with updates.

I'm installing it on my 6, and probably on the 5s I passed on to my mom, but both of those phones will likely be replaced in November.

I also have the 6+, but plan on doing a fresh installation of iOS 11. All of the upgrades are just installed on top of each other, so I'm thinking that a clean install will help.

I’m running iOS 11 on my 6 plus. Don’t really notice too much of a difference than with iOS 10. However it’s onky been a few hours.

So far so good. Does it lag a little, yes. But the experience all around is still enjoyable. And the additional features are worth the upgrade imo.

I did it about 90 minutes ago on the 6 Plus, no problems with the install. Some slight lag with the slightly new animations as you close apps. Nothing horrific though.

In general I would say it runs the same speed as before.

I saw your post after I posted mine, and our experiences are about the same. Good to go.
[doublepost=1505870887][/doublepost]One thing I do notice is all iPhones now should rotate to landscape in the lock screen. And I can’t get my plus to do that.

It's a real shame that a phone released in 2014, only 3 years ago...should show its age so quickly.

ip6 was a very weak phone...the A8 and 1gb RAM did buyers no favors. And the 6+ was an even worse travesty.

I loved my 6 plus. Never really considered it a travesty lol. Satisfied enough that I didn’t bother even touching a 6 plus S or a 7 plus.

After messing around with my brothers IP7+ after he got it last Nov, yeah I noticed how slower mine is. But then again I recall when I got this and the speed was mindblowing compared to my old 5 and especially my old iPhone 4! I can't really complain about the IP6+, it's treated me well. Some battery issues, that's about it.

I did upgrade to 8+, that's coming Friday, I still plan to keep the 6 Plus.

Yes, I realize next year we'll have some A12 chip, 4GB speed 8S+, iP11 Plus X2 whatever, lol. When it comes to the latest gadgets, it's literally a matter of time..basically months - a very short period of time - when our devices are considered "ancient."

The 1GB RAM I think is what really slows it down. It was a concern when the phone was brand spankin new. I've decided to hold off on iOS 11 for now, though I am installing it on my iPad Air 2 so I can mess around with it a bit.

I'm upgrading mine to iOS11 later. Can't possibly be worse than iOS9 was on my 6+. LOL. Personally, I think iOS10 has been the best one for my 6+ so far.

If you have fond memories of that phone, I think you are in the minority.

I remember all the talk on the forum...it wasn't pretty.

The 5s fared much better than the ip6.

No way, not in my experience. My 6 plus was a beast, still epic battery life. Maybe I just got a good one.

I have ios11 on my 6+ now. Over all it’s fine, not any slower. A couple apps like the weather channel are painful now though. Perhaps they need an update.

My 6 is running flawlessly on iOS 11.

And in my experience iOS devices show much greater longevity than their Android counterparts. I intend t get an X, but if I’m being honest, I don’t doubt that my 6 could last another year given how it’s handling the latest OS just fine.

You can’t judge by what you read on forums! People rarely come on forums to not complain. You see a few dozen people complaining online, but forget that there are tens of millions of satisfied customers. I think there are a lot of iPhone 6 users still out there, who like me, didn’t find it worth parting with for the 6s or 7 and are only now looking to upgrade this year. After “bendgate” blew over, forums like this are the only place I’ve ever heard anyone talk bad about the iPhone 6.

It’s your choice, but I’m telling you, it runs fine on a 6. I like the new control center and some of the aesthetic changes.

iOS 11 ran great on my 6S+. Give it day & soft reset. Now iOS running great on SE I replaced it with.

After you update, it feels choppy, but I think it feels speedier than 10.3. Animations are much more fluid. Something about iOS 11 feels "clean"er than 10.x
